Why? I find it scandalous about every aspect of capitalism and how it ruins and destroys everything around me in life. Including my spiritual Everton. I find the wages and player prices scandalous.
yea, I'm resigned to it more than scandalized by it.
If, out of a population of 7 or 8 billion, only a handful of people re able to play football to the top level, then I suppose there's an argument to how much they make. Likewise if someone can write a book that will sell ten million copies, they deserve to be handsomely reimbursed.
Now when it comes to investment portfolios, or massive inheritances, or people generally making millions with out doing a thing, that's far more scandelous to me.
If a company wants to pay Obama $60 million, it's because they've done their maths and they can make a profit off that investment.
In my view, that's absolutely fine. Obama has created a product that millions of people would want to buy, I've no problem with that making him millions.
In Obama's case, I'd imagine a huge chunk of that will go to philanthropic endeavors.
So in a strange way, Obama writing and selling his book will be very good for numerous charities.

Listen. I was joking k. Initially. I don’t care about the book deal. Don’t like Obama so obviously don’t like to see him profiting from his drone murder diaries. (Yes I’m sure there’s not much a mention of any). But yeah I’m not outraged as I am like you are resigned to that’s that world we live in and defo yes I agree. A book deal is much more integral and honest than the commercialism of football. And that does actually annoy me than Obama’s book deal.

The only think scandalous is you zeroing in on my word scandalous with my joke with ver!!

I recall back in 2016, when Hillary Clinton had been paid a $200,000 speaking fee by a big Wall St bank, people were flipping out thinking there's no way the bankers would pay that much unless there was an assumption of a big quid pro quo payoff from Clinton down the line. At the time (maybe still), the agency representing Clinton for speaking engagements also rep'd alleged comic Larry the Cable Guy. According to the agency, Larry the Cable Guy's standard speaking fee was also $200,000. I'm trying to imagine what kind of quid pro quo that much cash would buy me from Larry.

(I won't be hiring Larry the Cable Guy or Hillary Clinton to speak at my conference, convention, or other event.)

well, in fairness, you hate Obama and the Democrats and capitalism so you might see why I missed the joke about the book deal being scandalous.

I wish our Justice system would imposed a penalty to Republicans for wasting their time with these claimless cases when they could be using this court time on serious matters.

That 60 million book deal is scandalous. I am keeping my eye on that for ye.
What's scandalous is Kellyanne Conway getting millions on a book deal after all she has done the past four years is propagate Trump's lies to the American people and justify his racist behavior.

She never murdered countless civilians with remote control planes. To be fare.

Okay fair point. That still doesn't justify that our society rewards people like her with millions of dollars after all they have done is a disservice to society.
You should pick up Mein Kampf. It’s just incoherent (for the eyes) rambling from page to page. Utter garbage. I highly recommend.

Sometimes I just like to stick rebeca blacks Friday on loop and turn a few pages.
