The counting has been far too slow and is giving fuel to the conspiracy rubbish. They knew they had lots of postal votes so should have had more staff available to count.

This is the equivalent of us not having final results from a general election by Sunday morning.

The counting is no different than it ever is.
Just this time there are more mail in ballots which take much longer and some states didn't adequately prepare for it in part for just this scenario... Trump to claim fraud

Personally can see a fairly weak democrat government, who will get trounced in 4 years and at all the various elections between then unless they do incredible things.
This should have been a landslide. Glad Trump will be gone but the future for the Democrats is very uncertain.

I think there are huge challenges for both parties, and they both might have to start with a clearout. A Biden presidency is going to be fairly hamstrung, but Republicans have to grapple with a large backlash against them from a fervent and much larger-than-imagined section of Trump's base and try to win them over. He wasn't elected in 2016 because he was a Republican, and he didn't just get a record Republican vote because he was a Republican. He got them because he was Donald Trump
