Are they not just praying? Surely billions around the world, of many religions, pray every day.

Not religious personally but if I was I think I'd have been saying a few prayers for Everton over the last few weeks.

Maybe people wouldn’t be laughing at them if they weren’t literally in tears, praying for their god to intercede on behalf of a man who has told innumerable lies, bragged about sexually assaulting women, paid hush money to porn stars, been criminally negligent in combating a pandemic that has killed a quarter million of his constituents, incited violence in the streets, tried to undermine the very foundations of our democracy, etc.

I'm sure many people pray for a multitude of reasons. Many of them you and I will find funny, abnormal and even grotesque. If it was a video of a load of RS praying over VVDs knee I'd be all over it myself.

But that wasn't the point I was making. The OP said it was scary people still do that. I'm just pointing out they do that all the time.

Thousands of people (paid and volunteers) across the US have spent weeks doing their jobs in an apolitical way to ensure a safe and peaceful election and ballot count in the middle of a huge pandemic.

The actions of a few (even if one of them is the president) shouldn’t overshadow that.

I see where you're coming from LL as you're living through it and I agree with what you say, but the reporting, pictures etc we're seeing from the outside make the country look a tad unhinged. Hopefully when that bellend is officially volleyed out the oval office things will get back to a normal level of sanity.

no one should be surprised by this, almost everyone of prominence on the US right has signed up for the ride off the cliff so their allies here obviously are going to as well
