Last thing I saw last night was Andrew Neil on the BBC telling a GOP representative whho'd just said to him that ARZ was still very much in play that he was insane...which just underlines what a duffer he is out of his comfort zone of barking snide questions at politicians without the back bonebone to tell the gammon to STFU.

I saw that. Very strange given the known likelihood of postal votes swinging it Blue.

I own two guns. A Browning 9mm and and old .38 revolver. Haven't broken them out in years. I was probably in college when I got my first one. I've never had to use it but about five years ago, I stopped myself and my family from becoming crime victims but just showing it to the perpetrator. He backed off quickly and left the scene. Funny part was it wasn't loaded at the time. He didn't know that though. I've never known anyone personally who was hurt or lost their life by gunfire.

Believe it or not, I'm not some gun nut. My son however has an interest in shooting target rifles so we've enrolled him in a local rifle club that uses target rifles. There he'll get proper instruction and respect for how to handle a rifle, the ammunition, etc....

You are certainly correct in the cultural differences. Most people in rural Texas grew up with them. Heck, you'll still see pickup trucks with the gun rack in the back and a hunting rifle. No one here gives something like that a second thought. But if it's not a culture you grew up in, then yeah, I'd understand exactly where you're coming from.

I've only ever known him as a right wing nut.
