Is this in relation to postal votes or something like that?
I dont really understand all this about refusing to count votes. In our elections you have to have your postal vote in by a certain date, usually about a week before polling day.
I enjoy following US elections, but every 4 years I feel like I actually understand it even less than before!
Its the same here. Once votes come in by a certain date they have to be counted. As long as they are not defective and they are legible.
You are correct also John Oliver touched on it. In many states mail in ballots can only be counted on the day and they are generally counted after vote in person ballots. Because there are way more mail in the theory is that the counting may well go into the next morning or a few days.

It is Trump so hard to know what he means for certain (and it could change on a dime anyway) but yes he is likely meaning mail ballots that are postmarked prior to the election but received afterwards.
If he is meaning all ballot counting should just stop after midnight on election day well that would be very exciting news for Wisconsin and Pennsylvania as they don’t even start counting ballots for what looks like a record turnout year until election morning!
Oh I've got it completely wrong, I get you now. I thought this was not counting votes which dont arrive till after election day. I thought that sounded fair enough!

Oh thank Christ. I had a long day in work and when I seen the infamous SteveSC reply I thought ‘ well that’s me up for the night’.
But alas a much welcomed Neutral response. Don’t get me wrong I like dancing with the devil but not tonight dam it.
I need to get a new phone this iphone7 battery is starting to tap out and I have to lean the charger against something for it to charge and it’s not a faulty charger.
It all makes a British general election seem very straightforward haha
