WEDNESDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 7.15PM KO
VITALITY WOMENS FA CUP 2019/2020 SEMI FINAL
BIRMINGHAM WOMEN 0 EVERTON WOMEN 3

After a morale Boosting and incredible win against one of the very best women's teams not just in the WSL but in europe v chelsea in the Quarter Final of the FA Cup at the weekend, and in doing so stoping Chelsea gaining the treble and giving them there 1st defeat in any comp since April 2019, Everton now had no time to celebrate that victory as they were tonight up against 2017 FA Cup Runners up and current 2nd bottom of the table WSL Birmingham Women, Everton were themselves looking to get to the final for the 1st time since 2014 a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal, while the last time Everton won the cup was with a last minute winner 3-2 in Extra Time also v Arsenal in 2010 - Everton were Big favorite's for this game even more so for what they did v Chelsea, so they had everything to lose with the pressure been on them to win and reach the Final on Sunday 1st November - They had a mixed recent record v Birmingham but should be full of confidence, Everton made 2 changes to tonights team with Cleamaron and Boye-Hlorkah comming into the team for Raso and Stringer

The 1st 10mins was a cagey start on a very wet night with Sorensen once again looking dangerous down the left, Everton then caused danger 3 times from set plays with Cleamaron having a shot blocked from a Christiansen corner on 11mins from around 10 yards out, Everton then once again from a dangerous corner from Christiansen hit the bar from Sevecke's instinctive flick who after it was cleared shot with the outside of her right foot on the volley from around 6 yards out [Chance below], Everton were well on top without really having to many shots while Birmingham had hardly been by the Everton Goal,Magil on 26mins then had a volley that went well wide from a Christiansen cross, Everton were then so close to going ahead when after a long ball down the left from Christiansen to Turner who put in a cross that was controlled by magil on the 6 yard box with the on rushing Captain Lucy Graham having her shot blocked by the defender and keeper just yards out, on 32mins Boye-Hlorkah's bouncing inswinging cross then nearly caught the Birmingham keeper out who had to be very Alert, But Everton did get the goal there 1st half dominance deserved when Izzy Christiansen flicked the ball in behind delicately for Simone Magill to lash home with a powerful right foot finish from just inside the area. Half time came and it was 1-0 in a game Everton were so on top and deserved more from than just the 1 goal

Birmingham came out a little better as you would expect and had 2 long range shots, the 1st from Christie Murray then Lucy whipp bot easy for the Toffee's keeper Maclver, Birmingham were not to far from getting level 3mins later when on 55mins when ex Toffee forward Claudia walker turned and shot from the edge of the box and the Deflection via scorer Turner wrong footed the Everton keeper, but the keeper had no chance, But it became 2-0 on 60mins when Nicoline Sorensen finished right footed at the back from a cross from the right wing from Wold after a lovely pass from Finnigan, It was Sorensen's 1st goal for the Club, Boye-Hlorkah on 4mins then shot well wide after nice inter passing with her teams mates,Raso on 86mins then tried a lob which was just to high
But it was 3-0 EVERTON on 87mins when after neat through pass French big money signing Valerie Gauvin finished expertly pass the keeper, The game ended 3-0 and more than deserved and will go to Wembley for the Final on Sunday 1st November to face either Arsenal or Man City [they play 7.15 thursday on bbc 2]-Everton as said many times last won the cup v Arsenal in 2010 3-2 after ET, while losing to the same team in 2014
