Need to invest in the squad I feel. Promotion is vital this season.
Yeah, been pretty close last few years, got to within weeks of promotion till it fell away late on the season just gone, this spring series as said means nothing and is a stop gap till the real season begins in the summer, but you still get a thophy for it,i think the new season aug - may will be our year to make it back to the top league

Wondering if Moshiri has any interest in the Women's team and its success? I know he is a busy man at the minute with various other outstanding requirements at the club, but a weak women's team is not a good look.

Wouldnt have a clue, but a million or 2 is a heck of a lot of money for the Ladies etc, think that was what Liverpool Ladies had put into them a few years back, and they would have been relegated 2 years in a row if relegation exsisted, typical luck on us though that we ended up getting relegated the year it came in or the year after it

MILLWALL LIONESSES 2 EVERTON LADIES 1

3rd placed Everton Ladies who have 2 wins from 2 games, returned to league today after a 3 week league break, knowing a win will put them 1 point from the joint top 2 of Durham, who have played 1 game more, and London Bees who have played 2 games more,

The 1st shot off the game came from walker from the angle were the millwall keeper claimed pretty easily, the next chance came from the corner when captain hinnigan crossed for Jones whos shot went for another corner which came to nothing,Good chance then came for Millwall as Rutherford squared the ball across the edge off the area and Mason meet it and skyed it over,Walker then had a shot were she turned and shot for Everton but again easy for keeper, then on 20mins Millwall took the lead via Ella Rutherfords left foot shot after she won back the ball and sent the powerful shot in the net via the inside of the post for her 1st ever Millwall goal,it took Everton 7 mins only to draw level when Hollinshead was tripped in the box which led to a pen for us,Walker converting it with the keeper getting her finger tips to it making it 1-1 on 27mins,Everton were close to going 2-1 ahead just before ht when a double quick chance for Everton with 1st Green missing then walker sending her shot wide,,,half time came with the score at 1-1

7mins into the 2nd half,Everton brook quickly and it comes to Turner. Her low shot was very well saved by the Millwall keeper Quantrill, millwall scorer Rutherford on 55mins then had a shot that flew wide via a deflection that was close, then Gabby George has 2 chances in a min,the 1st at the far post from a header thats saved from hinnigans corner, that leads to another one were Geogre again heads straight at the keeper on the hour, then right from no were Millwall took the lead 2-1 ON 64MINS when 18 year old forward Charlie Devlin on loan from Arsenal Ladies and making her debut after joining just 3 days ago scored top corner from a good cross from Cowan on the left wing,THEN ON 73 MINS with Everton player Green about to shoot, millwall defender Robe comes from no were and makes a quite brilliant tackle to stop the chance,Stobbs on 78 and Green on 81 had another 2 chances saved by the millwall keeper,Our forward Walker then turned her marker and shot wide mins later,Hinnigan on 87 then walker on 88 had the millwall keeper full length reaching to save one handed,Everton could not find the 2nd goal and Millwall came out 2-1 winners

This was millwalls 1st win in 5 attempts that give Everton there 1st lost of the spring series, and couldnt be any more everton if you tried,1st goal, goal on debut,1st win,and scoring same amount of goals in 1 game than they had in 4 games together, the defeat moved Everton Ladies down to 4th place as villa who started just behind at the days ko won there game at the same time, with the chances missed Everton will feel this was a very undeserved defeat, and is a chance missed to close the gap at the top,Everton Ladies now 4 points from top with games in hand on the 3 above

The next league game for the Everton Ladies is after another 2 week break,on 16th april v Aston Villa home in widnes

Capped off a miserable weekend really.

Great to see. Personally, I feel they should play all their home matches at Goodison.

Ladies To Play At Goodison To Help EitC

@Everton07 April 2017 17:30

Everton Ladies will play at Goodison Park for their fixture against Watford Ladies on Sunday 14 May in aid of Everton in the Community’s Home Is Where The Heart Is campaign.

Kicking off at 2pm, fans are being encouraged to turn up and support the Ladies’ team for free and make a donation towards EitC's fundraising drive. Tickets are available from the box offices at Goodison Park, Everton One and Everton Two.

Everton Ladies, who usually play at the Select Security Stadium, are currently competing in the 2017 Spring Series league and are looking to challenge for the title, before the Women’s Super League starts in September.

As well as the football, Evertonians will be able to enjoy pre-match entertainment as Goodison Park transforms into a mini-match day, including football coaching sessions, inflatable games and face painting.

Andy Spence, Everton Ladies manager, said: “To have the opportunity to play at Goodison is fantastic for the players and it will be a special day for everyone associated with the team.

“We hope to see a big crowd in attendance so that we can showcase the very best of Everton Ladies to both new and existing fans.”

All proceeds from the match will go towards Home Is Where The Heart Is, a fundraising campaign led by David Unsworth and his Under-23 squad to support young people on the brink of homelessness across the city of Liverpool.

The aim is to raise £230,000 to fund and develop a supported-living initiative for young people in Liverpool, delivered by EitC. The funds raised will be used to purchase, and operate, a house close to Goodison Park which will offer 16 to 23-year-olds who have fallen on hard times, or have perhaps fallen out of the care system, a place to stay in Liverpool.

SUNDAY 16TH APRIL 2PM KO

EVERTON LADIES 3 ASTON VILLA WOMEN 0

5TH placed Everton Ladies played 3rd placed villa women knowing a win would put them 3rd and a point behind top 2 depending on other results, before the kick off a minute's applause was held to remember the 96 football fans who went to a game but didn't come home, 28 years ago

The 1st half was like so many of the Everton Ladies game so far this season, was a tail of chance after chance, after chance went begging with Vicky Jones,Magill,Hinnigan,Green and walker just a few having shots saved, over or blocked by last ditch tackles, but finally on 40 mins Everton got there just rewards when Simone Magill got the goal with a curler over the keepers head,it stayed 1-0 till half time despite Gabby Geogre having a shot low down saved right on ht

The 2nd half started in the same vain with once again Everton having a few chances of note, with villa very rarely getting a chance,Hinnigan with a long-ranger effort flew over the bar, villa keeper Beattie then tipping Green's curling effort wide of the post,Everton then hit the woodwork with villa somehow clearing away the rebound away,Turner then Having a low effort saved with Everton looking like all the game like they were the only team that were going to score, and the 2nd did come seconds later on 67 mins when forward Claudia Walkers cross - shot found the far corner of the net,Faye Bryson on the pitch a matter of mins then made it 3-0 on 74 mins for The Everton Ladies with another top class strike from distance,Hinnigan on the edge of the box turned into space and shot low in another shot that was saved late on in front of a crowd of 344 fans,Doncaster the team they play next beat the the leaders Durham so Everton went 1 point behind top with 1 game in hand on the leaders, and 2 in hand on 2nd place, game ended 3-0 and a very strong performance

For once,Everton Ladies next game is actually next week, instead of these 2/3 weeks break inbetween game, its
Doncaster v everton next sunday at 2pm

Any chance we can get promoted with Notts county folding?
Dont think they are sure whats going on yet,as the spring series season for notts county was due to start tomorrow, thats the inbetween comp till the new summer league begins,Notts County Ladies were started few years ago when Lincoln Ladies were relocated from Lincoln to Nottingham and rebranded. The club was originally formed in Lincoln in 1995.they havent even decided if players can sign for new teams as the window has closed etc in terms of actually been allowed to play if they did move, worst thing for some of the players is they have houses that come with been a notts county player, and they are going to lose there houses but not right now-they are been giving 3/4/5 months etc

SUNDAY 23RD APRIL 2PM KO

DONCASTER WOMEN 3 EVERTON LADIES 3

It was 5th placed Everton playing 6th place Doncaster, with a win for Everton putting them back into 2nd if they got it,and looking for there 4th win in 5 league games, the 1st goal arrived pretty quicky after 3 mins infact, when a goalmouth scramble saw a Magill shot saved but georgia brougham poking home the rebound,Vicky jones then failed to get a volley on target on 5 mins that she should have done a lot better with, our keeper Levell then did well to stop a Murray shot that went for a corner, which inturn was headed over, but it was soon 2-0 on 20 mins when Claudia walker was played through and she rounded the doncaster keeper davies to slot home, mins later there was nearly a repeat of the 2nd goal but this time the keeper raced out to stop the ball at the feet of the onrushing Magill, but on 37 mins Doncatser were back in the game when a murray shot hit the post but Sweetman-Kirk was there for the tap in,2mins later it was close to been level when the toffees keeper Levell reacted brilliantly to Sweetman-Kirks shot, the goal changed the way the game was going, and Half time came at the right point with Everton Ladies 2-1 up

The 2nd half started bad for our girls when just 2 mins into it,our girls conceeded a pen when our scorer Brougham brought down the donny scorer for the pen, brougham got a yellow for the foul,it was sweetman-kirk who took the pen and scored it for her 2nd of the game,on 51 mins walker hit a rocket that the doncaster keeper did well to tip over as our girls looked to retake the lead, but it was sweetman-kirk who had the next meaningful chance when she had a brilliant chance to complete her hattrick on 64mins but her shot was blocked brilliantly,Everton then went down the other end and magill was unlucky not to restore our lead when she to had her shot blocked very well by the doncaster player Little,Everton on 72 were once again unlucky when walker cut inside and seen her shot hit the post, but on 74 mins Doncaster took a 3-2 lead when Leandra Little headed home from a corner, she had actually started her career as a basketball player, but Everton did get a 3rd to make it 3-3 on 86mins when New Zealander Olivia Chance took aim from distance and scored a beauty,Everton were so close to winning it on the 90 min mark, when defender Gabby George saw her poked effort just fly over the bar,the result meant everton ended the day in 4th place 3 points from top with a game in hand on durham who they play in the rearanged match in 2 weeks time,The crowd of 482 would have enjoyed this game, but its a case of is this 3 points dropped when you 2up or 1 point gained when you score late

Everton Ladies next game is home to Brighton next sunday at 2pm

Everton Ladies moved up a place from 5th to 4th after a comfortable win over brighton, that leaves everton ladies 3 points from top place Durham who they play next sunday,Everton also have a game in hand over Durham,it was a good 1st half for everton were magill put the Ladies ahead on 13mins via a pen,5 mins later danielle turner scored a wonderful free kick, then on 23mins it was 3-0 when claudia walker scored with a left shot to complete 3 goals in 10mins,faye bryson struck the woodwork late in the 1st half, the 1st half was cruise control, but half time came with the score 3-0

the start of the 2nd half started with a walker shot saved well, before it was 4-0 on 49mins when turner scored her 2nd of the game with a thunderbolt of a shot, walker then had a shot from just inside the oppo half that was tipped over, before again Everton hit the woodwork via a gabby geogre shot, the 5th and final goal of the game arrived on 85mins when Georgia Brougham scored a header from a corner to complete an excellent win, next game is Everton home to top placed Durham in the rearanged game next saturday at 2pm
