Each club will play each other once with a trophy awarded to each division’s winners. The Spring Series will finish before this summer’s Euros.

The new season begins next week WITH A GAME AWAY TO OXFORD,but today the Ladies begin there FA CUP RUN with a game away v Brighouse Town in the 3rd round,Brighouse have 14 goals in there fa cup run so far with probably Jodie Redgrave there main thread, they are at the minute 10th in the premier league div 1 in a 12 team league,2 points above bottom team, but they should be fitter with there league having started last august and this been out 1st competitive game today, they have yet to win a home game in the league and have 1 win home only all season which was the a previous cup game

SPRING SERIES WOMENS FA CUP 3RD ROUND

BRIGHOUSE TOWN 1 EVERTON LADIES 8

Everton went into the 4th round of the womens fa cup without any troubles at all,it was a one sided game pretty much were Everton Ladies could have bagged more than the FOUR 1st half goals they got,Magill after earlier bringing out a decent save from the Brighouse keeper in the 1st 5 mins, opened the scoring on 12 mins, blasting home after a quick double save in succession,Everton had a number of chances before they finally got the 2nd goal on 33mins, when Magill got her 2nd after a cross fell to her and she found the far corner, the 3rd quickly followed on 40 mins when Hinnigan tapped home, the 4th came on the stroke of half time when the forward claudia walker was allowed to just go forward with no tackle comming on her,to fire low past the keeper, half time blew near enough right away

The 2nd half was like a one half game of football were Everton were hardly out the brighouse half, though with a rare attack and from distance the Brighouse Town Captain Annabelle Cass scored with a powerfull drive on 68 mins that made it 4-1,Everton regained there 4 goal lead and got the 5th goal ON 76MINS via new signing Olivia Chance, who has only been on 5 mins, when she played a one two with walker leaving her with time and space to fire low into the net,the next goal was not long in waiting for,and came on 81 mins via walker with a neat finish to make it 6-1,walkers hattrick came on 86 with a calm finish that made it 7-1,,it went 8-1 on 89mins When chance bagged her 2nd goal, just like the 1st half we scored 3/4 goals in quick time late on in each half

The 4th round of the womens fa cup is only 2 weeks away on the 19th FEB,THE FA CUP WINNERS RECEIVE 25,000,which does not seem much, but is considering its 5 times more than the previous seasons [5,000],even the cup losers gain 15,000,we received 1,000 for going into 4th round, the 4th round draw is 11.40am monday morning

OXFORD UNITED WOMEN 1 EVERTON LADIES 2

On what was the start of the new Spring Series, a one-off competition which has been created to bridge the gap between seasons, while the FA WSL transitions from a summer league to a more traditional football calendar,Everton Ladies began with a trip to Oxford Women who they beat both games last season in the league, and the new season began well with a decent win

The 1st goal arrived following good work from Finnigan, Simone Magill sloting home from close range, after her initial shot was blocked on the line to give the girls the lead on 12 mins,it took the next 20mins till Everton really got another chance which came from a 2nd corner were Magill turned and had her shot easily saved,Turner with a shot wide and walker blasting her shot well over had those 2 chances in mins towards the end of the half with the real only other chances of the half for the girls, oxford failed to even have a shot on target, and it was 1-0 at ht

The 2nd half began well as the girls went 2 -0 ahead on 48 mins, after Walker seen her shot brilliantly saved by Lambourne, she then beat the keeper to the rebound and squared it for Jones to tap in,on the hour it should have been another goal for the blues, when Walker broke away down the left, whiped in a teasing cross but Hollinshead fired over from little more than 5 yards out,she was subbed mins after that,Magill had a shot saved low down after a turn and shot mid way during the 2nd half,on 81 mins captain Hinnigan rounded the keeper and had her shot headed off the line,on 89 mins oxford got little more than a consolation, when nigerian forward Ini Umotong sprinted through from the halfway line, rounded the keeper and sloted it in the net, infrot of a crowd of 243,that goal actually stoped Everton Ladies going top even though its only 1 game gone

SUNDAY 19TH FEBUARY
SPRING SERIES WOMENS FA CUP 4TH ROUND
DURHAM WOMEN V EVERTN LADIES-2PM KO

Everton Ladies went into todays 4th round game, after there previous 3rd round massive win v Brighouse Town, were hattrick hero CLAUDIA WALKER was named the player of the round, and The EVERTON LADIES PULLED OFF A SENSATIONAL WIN in front of a crowd of 365 comming from 2 goals down, having a midfielder in goal for the 2nd half AND ALL OF extra time v there WSL 2 RIVALS,there was 1 place and 1 point the difference last season-it was a decent game to listen to on radio as well, the 5th round is to be played on 19 march, and in tomorrows draw, WSL 1 teams will now enter,so it will get tougher.

The game began with Durham well in control the 1st 30mins were Everton had to clear off the line twice, with the best Everton could do was having a corner that came to Brougham at the back post, but she headed comfortably wide by a big way,and Stobbs having a shot blocked, the pressure did tell not long later though when Durham took the lead on 34 minutes through Beth Hepple who fired a superb strike over the head and through the hands of keeper Levell,Levell then made an excellent stop seconds later turning a shot around the post from Durhams Annabel Johnson, injuring her ankle in the process were it was said to be twice the size after her injury, and that injury was made to tell on 43 mins when Becky Salicki headed home from a free-kick 30 yards out to double her sides lead with the keeper not even attempting to jump up for the ball, the problem was Everton had no sub keeper, plus the keeper didnt want to come off,2-0 AT HALF TIME was a fair reflection of the game

The 2nd half did start with a change in in Goal, were Midfielder Danielle turner went in goal after Keeper Levell was subbed for Faye Bryson,Goalscorer Hepple tested Everton’s makeshift stopper with a long-range effort on 49mins, but Turner held it well and just 1 minute later,Everton Ladies got back into the match on 50 mins when Skipper Michelle Hinnigan poked an effort past the keeper to get the Blues right back into the match after a corner wasnt fully cleared,on 61 mins Hinnigan took aim from distance but her drilled effort along the ground was straight at Durham keeper Alderson,Evertons Olivia Chance was next to have a go with a drilled effort from the angle - also straight at Alderson on 72 mins,Durham Goalscorer Salicki then made a sliding tackle to stop a Magill shot after she had broke into the area on 74mins,it was great defending,Everton were well on top and just like Durham in the 1st half,Everton Ladies then drew level on 77 MINS when Finnigan headed us level from a corner TO MAKE IT 2-2,that was the final score at the 90 min mark and this game went into extra time at New Ferens Park

EXTRA TIME

Extra time began with not to much between the teams, then on the 100th minute,Everton had a huge chance as defender Brougham came steaming in and headed narrowly over the bar, though the keeper left it as though she had it covered, the end of the 1st period of extra time ended with the scorers still level 2-2

The 2nd period of extra time started with the captain hinnigan having 2 shots, and forward walker converted from a mid player this season having shots inside the 1st 7mins,WITH 4 MINS LEFT Walker played a fine ball across the face of goal but nobody was there for what would have been a tap in,the game ended 2-2 at the end of extra time

Isn't it slightly demeaning showing the goalscorers by their Instagram photos? If you can't find a footballing photo, don't bother.
not instagram, its twitter or via the browser, and dont have to put pic at all,its only as someone wanted to know what they looked like last season,so carried it on,pics or not does not bother me one bit lol

SUNDAY 12TH MARCH 2PM KO
SHEFFIELD LADIES 1 EVERTON LADIES 2

Finally after a 3 week gap for various reasons,4th placed Everton Ladies returned to league action for there 2nd game of the season, away to 5th placed Sheffield Ladies, who have 1 win,1 loss from there 2 league games,Everton had the chance to go 3rd 1 point from top, with a game or 2 in hand if scores went there way today, and thats indeed what happened with the Ladies comming out with very well deserved 2-1 win

There was quite a few chances in the 1st half, with Everton having by far the more chances, and some very decent ones, the 1st comming on 2 mins from a long distance strike from Hinnigan right into the keepers arms,a min later Hollinshead on the break for Everton shot wide,it was Walker next for Everton with a 25 yard shot over the bar on 11 mins,Everton looking assured in possession carried on having shot after shot, with Evertons newish signing Stobbs playing well early on,next chance was one of those balls across the box were no one was there for the tap in for Everton Ladies [20],but Sheffield Ladies finally had there chance and it was the best of the game at that point with Lord-Mears getting a free header at the back post aiming it to the corner the cross came from,it went wide,Evertons Hollinshead then had a shot down the keepers throat saved on 30mins,2mins later a Shot from Walker was alowed to happen as the Sheffield's back four bcked off,it went out after a deflection for a corner and that resulting corner Finnigan came close with a volley for Everton,Sheffield Ladies had there 2nd chance over the bar on 35 ish mins, then on 37 mins Everton had by far there best chance with Walker shooting over from 8 yards after a pull back,it was 0-0 at half time some how

The 2nd half began with the way the 1st did,as right from the ko,Walker creates space for herself but sheffield keeper Draycott held the shot from 12 yards out,Stobbs then tried her luck from 20 yards out with the keeper catching above her head,Everton were so far ahead in this game chance wise that it looked a matter of time till they scored,Sheffield Ladies then made cynical foul to stop an Everton attack which led to a free kick about 25 yards out with Turner bending the kick just over,A minute later Stobbs nearly caught the Sheffield keeper out with a cross, the keeper falling backwards to claim, there was still only 55mins gone at this point,,,THEN FINALLY the GOAL that had looked like comming on a frustrating afternoon all game arrived on 66 mins with EVERTON FORWARD CLAUDIA WALKER hitting a shot from wide left and it nestleing in the bottom corner beyond sheffield keeper Draycott,it was no more than the Ladies deserved, this was a week after walker scored a goal in the england u23s friendly, then right from no were, sheffield ladies drew level on 78mins when a Long ball forward had Finnigan misjudging the header under pressure from Davies and McCue niped in and finished calmly for Sheffield,But one minute later on 79 EVERTON LADIES reclaimed the lead via an og from Ellie Gilliatt who failed to deal with a cross and instead headed into her own net,EVERTON LADIES HELD ON FOR A WELL DESERVED WIN,for there 2nd win in 2

SUNDAY 19TH MARCH 2PM KO
SPRING SERIES WOMENS FA CUP 5TH ROUND
LIVERPOOL LADIES 2 EVERTON LADIES 1

Today was the day the Everton Ladies had been waiting for,a local derby looking for revenge after been knocked out the cup each of the last 2 years v there neighbours, and gain there 1st win in 4 years v Liverpool Ladies, with the chance to go into the Q/F of the cup v a Liverpool Ladies team yet to have a competitive match this year, there wsl spring series league starting the end of april, and unfortunately it didnt go our way again,

Natasha Harding got the 1st goal of the match on the 8th minutes converting a cross at the near post, this was one minute after Everton Ladies player Walker headed over a decent chance from a cross,Ali Johnson then had our keeper Levell stretching to keep out a shot that was going top corner on 32 mins,Hinnigan sent a shot over the bar mins later for us after a run through the middle,Turner then had a shot from distance later in the half for us well off target and that was pretty much it really with the 1st half ending with Liverpool Ladies leading 1-0 at ht

The 2nd half began pretty much like the 1st and it was so close to be 2-0 on 54 when Katie Longhurst had her header cleared of the line by Daniellie Turner, she was the player that went in goal in our cup game for most of the match last round, the whole 2nd half/extra time and pens last month that led to this 5th round game, but just 1 min after it could have been 2 for Liverpool,It should really have been 1-1 when Liverpool and England keeper siobhan chamberlain made a brilliant point blank save v claudia walker with it going out for corner, walker then volleyed over on the hour, then thankfully on 69 mins Everton drew level when magill was in the right place at the right time to guide her shot in from close range,on 80 mins liverpool hit the post from 25 yards or so with a shot from midfielde katie Zelem,on the break in the last min via claudia walker she played the pass to her team mate Hollinshead who then had her shot blocked by a liverpool defender,it ended 1-1 at the 90 min mark sending the game into extra time

EXTRA TIME

on 95mins the Blues broke with Magill freeing Walker, but a liverpool player did well to get back and make a late tackle to stop the shot,on 105 Finnigan for Everton had a shot over the bar, then on the counter both Weir and van de Sanden are denied by good tackles to end the 1st period of ET still 1-1,at the start of the 2nd half in extra time Everton were so close to taking the lead when a Shot from distance from Walker flew narrowly off target, then Magill is inches away from scoring clipping the post, then just 3 mins later on 109 minutes it was disaster for our girls as Liverpool took the lead with dutch forward Van de Sanden heading in from close range after a perfect cross from Ali Johnson,in the final min liverpool player Bonner twice denied evertons walker with 2 blocks, and with that it was Liverpool ladies winning 2-1 who went through to the next round,The Attendance was 728 at the stadium select in widnes

In the other 2 local derbys in the 4th round of the cup,Arsenal Ladies wacked Spurs Ladies 10-0,it was 5-0 at ht,and Birmingham Ladies beat west brom ladies 2-0

Everton Ladies now have a 2 week break with there next game been away to millwall lionesses on 2nd april, with the Q/F of the cup taking place next week

Shame. Planning to take my girls to the Cup final at Wembley and was hoping that the Blue girls might make the final. Sadly not to be.

Still probably going to go though.
