FA WSL 1 Friday 23RD FEBRUARY 7.30PM KO
ARSENAL WOMEN 1 EVERTON LADIES 0

8th Placed Everton Ladies were playing another rare friday night fixture tonight,as they were away to 4th placed Arsenal Women at meadow park [Boreham woods/Arsenal Ladies ground],and it was Arsenal who came out on top, with the only goal of the game comming from Beth Mead on 39mins, when she controlled the ball well and had time and space to shoot low to the far post beating Everton Keeper Durack,it was so very nearly 1-1 on the stroke of Half time when Mollie Green a late inclusion to the starting line up due to an injury/illness in the warm up from the Everton ladies captain Turner, picked up a loose ball and spotting the Arsenal Womens Keeper off her line, took a shot from around 35 yards out with the Arsenal keeper getting back just in time to tip it on to the bar with the rebound then been cleared,it was 1-0 at HALF TIME

Olivia chance had the 1st Everton chance of the 2nd half, but her shot was from a pretty tight angle, and easy for the keeper to save, though on 55mins Everton did have the ball in the net,but a Sweetman-Kirk low down shot was ruled out for offside.
On 66mins Everton Keeper Durack pulled off a tremounous save from Danielle Carter from point blank range to keep the score at 1-0 but Everton never really found a way to goal tonight and the game ended 1-0 to the Arsenal,

16-year-old Elise Hughes,17 in april, came on for her senior debut in injury time. shes in the full Wales Women's squad for the upcoming Cyprus Cup tournament starting next week, after already playing for Wales at under-16 and U17 level,

SSE WOMENS FA CUP QUARTER FINAL
SUNDAY 25TH MARCH 12.30PM KO
DURHAM WOMEN 1 EVERTON LADIES 6

Everton Ladies beat Durham Women 6-1 to reach the Semi Finals of the SSE womens fa cup, were they will face either Arsenal or Charlton which kicked off at 2pm today-[arsenal lead that game 1-0 WITH 35MINS GONE],the semi finals are live on BBC TV on 15th April [The first game will kick-off at 12.30pm on the Red Button and the other at 3.30pm on BBC Two],

But back to todays game and after listerning to the match on Radio it didnt sound as straight forward as the score might suggest 1st half anyway but class told in the end,Durham were always in this game either side of the goals, but the 1st goal came on 15mins when olivia chance's shot was only parried out the on rushing Sweetman-kirk who dinked it over the keeper to make it 1-0 Everton,it was so close to been 1-1 on 27mins when Everton keeper Levell taking her time on the ball was closed down trying to clear, with the ball falling to Durhams Hepple whos shot just went over the bar with the Everton Defenders throwing themselves in the way hoping to stop the shot, the Everton boss Andy Spence was not happy as you could hear him even on radio com in the background,

on 31mins Everton defender Megan Finnigan was close to heading home a chloe kelly corner just failing to meet the corner by a hairs length,on 40mins Kelly had a dipping volley just over the bar for Everton, but on 42mins it was 2-0 when Everton broke downfield from a Durham attack with Dan Turner showing her electric pace down the left wing before crossing with the ball eventually falling to Olivia chance to make it 2-0,with the very last touch of the 1st half Beth Hepple had a free kick for Durham that stuck the post with the rebound been cleared off the line-HALF TIME 2-0 EVERTON LADIES

The 2nd half began and it was soon 3-0 on 51 mins when Sweetman-kirk got her 2nd of the match when she nodded home a Chloe kelly cross, seconds after the restart from the Everton goal Everton again cleared a Durham chance of the line,it became 4-0 EVERTON on 57 mins when Danielle Turner again with her pace down the left cut inside the defender and fired across the Durham keeper Alderson and into the bottom corner,Everton were been very clinical with there chances,on 60mins Sweetman-Kirk had the chance for her 3rd but shot wide when clean through,on 63 Durham again hit the woodwork, but one minute later it was 5-0 Everton with Sweetman-Kirk getting her hat-trick as she beat the offside trap, rounded the keeper Alderson and sloted home, but Durham got a goal back on 67mins when again the woodwork was hit with the rebound this time turned home from Durhams Sarah Robson to make it 5-1 for Everton,on 69 mins Durham hit the bar with the rebound turned home only for the goal to be disallowed for offside, this must have been some type of record for the woodwork to be hit during one game,on 90 durham hit the bar again, but with the last touch of the match it became 6-1 when Jodie Brett headded home from another Dan Turner cross, but EVERTON LADIES WON 6-1,with 502 been the attendance which was a good crowd for Durham

SUNDERLAND LADIES 1 EVERTON LADIES 1

After the Quarter final fa cup weekend win,it was back to WSL1 action tonight in a rare midweek game for the Everton Ladies, this was 7th placed Sunderland v 8th placed Everton,a win for Everton Ladies would move them above the opposition,The 1st chance of the game came to Evertons chloe kelly on 9mins,after outpacing the sunderland defender- she had a long range shot over the bar,on 17mins Zaneta Wyne from Sunderland Ladies fired wide from 35 yards, that was basically all that happened 1st half, with the score at 0-0 at HT

The 2nd half began and just 3mins into it Everton Ladies took a 1-0 lead,DANIIELLE TURNER was the scorer with a great finish, after chloe kelly had wipped in a cross from the right,on 62mins it was 1-1 when a sunderland corner from Lucy Staniforth went in at the back post,Siri Worm then had a shot hit the side netting for Everton on 66mins,Ramshaw took aim from long distance but straight at Toffees keeper Durack on 85,then on 86 Sweetman-Kirk curled an effort wide from the edge of the area for Everton, the game ended 1-1 which bizarrely was both teams 1st league draw in there 11th game of the season.

How many teams are relegated in Womens football?

I think I've read somewhere that there aren't any relegations this season mate.

They're currently running a franchise competition for next season, with different clubs bidding to be in WSL1 and WSL2 (they're expanding).

We should be in WSL1 next season.

Thanks couldn't find anything online and to be honest I don't really follow their progress.I only seem to remember a few of our better players defecting to the rs a few seasons ago.

yeah, none it was decided after the 1st game of this season, plus there is going to be a slight rename of the leagues, plus teams have to apply to be in the leagues etc for next season, full time teams in the top league and none full time in the 2nd etc,we are safe for the top league
