Everton Ladies v Liverpool Ladies

FRIDAY 22ND SEPTEMEBER- WSL1
EVERTON LADIES 0 LIVERPOOL LADIES 2

Everton returned to the top league of WSL 1 after a period of 3 years in the 2nd tier of the womens league, and it came v no less than there local neighbours in the opening game of the season Liverpool Laides, the 1st real decent enough chance came for Liverpool via a Weir left footed strike that toffees keeper Durack pushed over on 10mins,5 mins later after hesitation from the liverpool defence and with the keeper comming out, claudia walker nipped in between and nicked the ball over the on rushing liverpool keeper only to see her shot cleared off the line by liverpool defender casie stoney,on 25 mins Evertons new captain Danielle Turner replacing michelle hinnigan who sadly for her after 16 years at the club could not turn full time due to her teaching career put in an inswinging and threatening cross that new signing from chelsea Jodie Brett just failed to reach,on 33 mins New and joint vice captain Gabby geogre had a shot that drifted wide,on 38 and Liverpools best chance came from a free kcik when jessica clarke's lobbed header went over the toffees keepers head crashed off the bar with the rebound falling yards out to Beth England who somehow had her shot brilliantly saved by the toffees keeper that went for a corner, half time came with the score at 0-0

2nd half and on 55mins claudia walker had another chance for Everton but Siobhan Chamberlain saved quite easily,as minute later there was a bit of a scramble in the everton box which they did well to clear, walker the most likely probably to score for Everton was then stoped from shooting from an excellent tackle on 60mins,Evertons Jodie Brett then had a very long range shot that was caught very easy by the liverpool keeper, but on 69mins Liverpool ladies took the lead after a scramble from ex everton star alex greenwoods dangerous free kick that caused trouble in thebox,it was Everton captian turner that stoped a shot on the line with the rebound falling to Natasha Harding who stabbed the ball home to give Liverpool the lead,

The Everton keeper then made a decent save mins later on 72,then on 78mins another fine save from toffess Durack after a clearance was charged downby Niamh Charles and her shot on the angle was parried out with the rebound just missing the onrushing liverpool player England, another pretty decent cross by alex greenwood feel to the backpost were a shot by hodson was blocked on 87mins ,on 92 Everton had what should have been a dangerous free kick that was wasted by siri worm who tired to catch the keeper out but the shot went wide and had no power with everyone in the box waiting for the cross, then on 94mins in the last min of 4mins added, Teenager Niamh Charles settled it teeing up Hodson down the right and reacting quickest after Durack parried her team-mate’s angled shot! That’s her first WSL goal no surprise v Everton, seconds later the whistle blew for the end of the game for a deserved liverpool win,the Attendance tonight was 1439 which was a very good attendance,

Next game for the Everton Ladies is away to Birmingham Laides a week sunday at 12.30
