SUNDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER

EVERTON LADIES 3 OXFORD UNITED WOMEN 0

After another pointless break in the womens league,3rd placed Everton Ladies returned to action today v 3rd bottom watford women, hoping to keep the pressure up on the top 2,and it was a very well deserved win for our girls, and it turned out to be a massive result based on other games at the top today,The girls had a totally dominant 1st half were our girls missed a number of chances not for the 1st time in a game ive said that this season,in the end rewarded with a goal,it was Claudia walker who give the girls the lead on 28mins when the pressure finally told when she tapped in at the back post from a cross along the area from our on loan forward Ayana,IT WAS 1-0 AT HT

The 2nd half was much the same, though early on in the 2nd half, oxford women had a goal disallowed for either offside or a foul, but that was the only trouble they caused, the 2nd everton goal was pretty similar to the 1st were ayana once again provided the assist with the cross to the back post were captain michelle Hinnigan volley home on 63mins,the 3rd goal mins later on 68mins was special, scored by walker,it was brought down from the air,she then turned her defender in the area, and curled the ball into the top corner,,,To top of a brilliant win for us,the leaders YEOVIL let a 2 goal lead go and lost 3-2 at home to London Bees,

Everton Ladies next game is away in 2 weeks to the current leaders YEOVIL WOMEN,the league is in effect in Evertons ladies own hands now,we have 4 games left, were we have the other 3 teams in the top 4,remember the top 2 go up auto.

Great stuff mate. Blockbuster next round with the top 4 teams playing each other. Fingers crossed.
our game at yeovil has the full 90mins on radio channel from yeovil,so might listen to it,listened to last 50mins of yeovil defeat on it today and they could have lost by more in the 2nd half, despite having one of the line in injury time

SUNDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER

YEOVIL TOWN WOMEN 1 EVERTON LADIES 0

On a weekend when the top 4 played each other, were yesterday the then 2nd placed Bristol City women beat Durham women 1-0 to take over top place,Everton knew a win today would put them 2nd by 1 point ahead of 3rd over yeovil with a game in hand, and have auto promotion firmly in there own hands, but they came out off this game with a defeat that makes going up hard, but by no means it been over.

Kelly Aldridge give yeovil the lead on 23mins with a shot from just over 20 yards that went top corner, that seemed to catch our keeper Krstie Levell out a touch who probably was not expecting the shot,it came after Everton probably just edged the game at that point with out really either side looking like scoring up to that minute,it was Levell and the Everton back 4 that stoped it been 2-0 on 29,when Yeovil broke and had the shot saved by Levell, the shot then rebounded off one of the Everton back 4, and went out just passing the post for a corner,it was 1-0 yeovil at ht.

The 2nd half was scrappy, with Everton been in control, but yeovil having the better chance when they broke away from Everton trying to make it 1-1,when they missed the chance of making it 2-0 when it was 2 on 1,the chance went begging from there point of view, the Everton ladies players dropped to the ground in despair at FT,with the Yeovil fans singing we are going up,and we are top of the league.

Evertons next game is october 9th away to Durham women, were Everton have no choice but to have to win the game in hand,to give themselves a decent chance of auto promotion, they then face Bristol city women another 3 weeks after that game,

Went to the game today and to be fair we played the better football without having the cutting edge front of goal. My daughter walked out with the girls and they were a credit to the club, Gabby George was a star and really made my little girls day. Keep going ladies!

SUNDAY 9TH OCTOBER

DURHAM WOMAN 1 EVERTON LADIES 3

In what was a must win game in hand on the top 2,or the ladies probably could have kissed there chances of auto promotion goodbye, and to keep the pressure up on the top 2,our girls got a massive win away to Durham woman, who themselves were only 1 point behind us at ko,and had there own chances of auto promotion, wiped away by us.

The game began well for us,and after 11 minutes everton took the lead from a corner, the corner came in and was cleared but only to hinnigan, whos shot hit the bar with gabby geogre following in with the header, few mins later it was close to 2 when a curler from Johnson was saved, just as Durham were slowly getting back into the game, everton pulled off the sucker punch and got the 2nd on 25 minutes when Walker headed home Johnsons cross,it was nearly 3-0 twice in the space of minutes, but seconds later and Durham were back in the game on 36 minutes with a 30 yard shot from Beth Hepple,on 39 everton broke away and Ayane in a 1 on 1 hit the ball over the bar,it was 2-1 at ht

in the 2nd half and on 61mins,everton hit the post from Johnson, whos shot hit the post and deflected away, and the Durham keeper mostly kept Durham in the game,on 72 Ellie Stewart met a header from the corner which Alderson clawed away down to her left a great save, and on 82 Alderson pulled off an excellent double save from Kelly Jones long ranger before parrying Walker’s follow-up,everton sealed the game 3-1, 5 mins into injury time when Lauren Davies scored with near enough her 1st touch,a curler from distance,it was a excellent performance that came with this win,and fully deserved,

Everton Ladies are now 2points from the top 2 with 2 games to go,and the hugely vitally important game up next against Bristol city women, lose that and it could well be it in terms of auto promotion, win it and its all in Evertons own hands going into the final game of the season

YEOVIL WOMAN 33 POINTS FROM 16 GAMES
BRISTOL CITY WOMAN 33 POINTS FROM 16 GAMES
EVERTON LADIES 31 POINTS FROM 16 GAMES

Next game is EVERTON LADIES V BRISTOL CITY WOMEN,29TH OCTOBER 6PM KO
