The 2012 Other Clubs Summer Transfer Window Thread

See? This is what happens when you waste £240m on 44 players over a 4 year spell (see my other thread).

Eventually... you simply run out of money. Or run out of banks willing to loan you the money.

FSG clearly aren't prepared to piss money up the wall anymore.

A watershed moment in the RS history. Love it.

To be perfectly honest, it looks more like Fulham didn't want to do business with Liverpool and made it as awkward as possible, were as they accepted the bids of Aston Villa and Tottenham instantly. Guess Jol see's Liverpool as rivals now...or maybe Liverpool just refused to pay an extra couple of 0000's.

Either way, Jol is a legend.

Some canny signings by, Swansea, Sunderland and Stoke.

WHU have given themselves a chance.

Imagine how City fans feel this morning, spending less then 100mill for them is like us getting a late loan deal as our only signing in the window.

Nastasic?

Don't know really. Saw him a bit for Fiorentina last year and I had no idea he was only 18. I don't really pay too much attention to CBs though! They must be pretty sure to spunk a fair bit of money AND send Savic the other way.

Although Savic is gash.

Sorry RUFUS only just spotted your replay

Not that one the other one Garcia

Oh. Don't really follow Portuguese sides mate, aside from when they play in European competitions.

Seems to be the poor man's Javi Martinez from what I've read but who knows? Never rated Martinez as highly as everyone else saying that.

Think Podolski could be a fine signing. Some great link up play with Cazorla, a well taken goal and most interestingly he tracked back very well and got stuck in with a lot of tenacity.

On the other hand Giroud is painful to watch. Great movement but he's the least clinical striker I've ever seen. Time will tell with him.

I watched enough of him last season to know he wasnt an Arsenal player, so surely Wenger did?

Hypothetical situation:

AVB has a 'mare at Spurs and is sacked at Christmas. Moutinho doesn't like the way his former manager has been treated and has concerns that Tottenham might not make Europe, so stalls on a move. Everton on the other hand are having a storming season and are set to bank £14m from the new tv right deal. Moyes is a long time admirer of Moutinho. Could we possibly get a deal done?

No, no we cant.
