what's the relevance nev ?

I remember that well, have always thought it was a lovely touch and a great tribute to a little lost soul and will never forget it.

how does it apply here mate ?

just that the clubs and fans shouldn't have hatred for each other mate, and it was a nice gesture by Liverpool.
Some people on here are upset they sang thier anthem YNWA yesterday in thier own ground. Whilst I do think He Ain't Heavy would have been more apropriate Im not offended they sang YNWA. Don't think we have we ever played YNWA even near Hillsborough dates.

Im a lover not a fighter.xxx

same mate

although I think some may have been something similar at yesterdays tribute

it's their ground they can play what they want

it's how we apply our sentiments that matters

Unfortunately YNWA has become a sort of online 'masonic handshake' whereby the cultists can embrace each other.

It has now become a threatening gesture to everyone who isn't them.

This. The whole world and his ma knows that the Viet Cong have handled themselves pretty poorly over various incidents, but it was a genuine gesture and I certainly wasn't offended. They sing that song before the start of a match. Get over it.

On the other hand, I never listen to Aldridge and no Kopite I know with half a brain does, either, but he needs to be picked up on authenticating lies.

Finally, some sense.

To be honest, know I have read the thread properly, the fact that they sang YNWA is neither here nor there, so to turn it into anything bigger than what it was is a bit pathetic IMO. You are just giving them fuel to have a go at Evertonians.

That said most of them are still deluded bell whiffs.

Excellent post.

The act of 'thanks' itself was wholly inappropriate. Everton Football Club has supported the JFT96 campaign, not Liverpool Football Club. The incessant attempts of the club's marketing department to make the events of '89 and after about them - that they hold it aloft of some kind of stigmata - is dishonourable, hubristic and calculated.

Everton Football Club supported a campaign for truth and justice, a campaign that involved the families of people from Merseyside, some LFC fans, some EFC. Liverpool Football Club has absolutely no right to appropriate that support. It was neither for them nor about them.

That they chose to be willfully antagonistic with their 'thanks' is yet another sign of how removed the club is - top to the very, very bottom - from any sense of reality, any sense of decency. Everton should have moved publically before the Derby to say that, while we appreciate your thanks, it's really not necessary. Unfortunately it was allowed to happen, and it's provided yet another platform for the truly vicious and conceited portion of LFC supporters to fabricate stories. I only hope that, outside the city, they're seen for what they are.

Spot on, every single word.

Right i always knew that Aldo was a pr!ck but there was a poster who was on about Aldo making fun of Frank Lampards late mother. Will someone please tell me that's not true.

don't know but last week he said Bale shouldn't of won the player of the year because he's a bigger cheat than Suarez.

Nah Reidy, it's just a subject that I feel goes way deeper than I have any honest right to have an opinion on. I'm very much an outsider on H'boro; after almost 20 years of seeing the topic explode almost every time it comes up, I feel it's a subject I shouldn't touch really. But I always read anything to do with it for obvious reasons. I have opinions on it but I don't really consider them valid, for various reasons...possibly unjustified. It's my own hangup I suppose.
