Hello all Everton fans,

My father died very suddenly just before twelve today on this very forum from what appears to be a massive heart attack.

My name is Deepak, the youngest son of Vijay. As some of you may be aware my dad was a very ill man indeed. He went to his first Everton match in the early fifties after arriving from India to Liverpool. He went to every game home and away until 2002. He loved Everton football club and was devastated when he had to give up his season ticket due to his amputations and ill health. We tried for years to get him online and he would not. Only when we told him of these types of forums he would agree to one.

I would like to thank all who interacted with him. You made his last few months enjoyable because he was always talking of the grand old team website.

He leaves a wife, four sons and a daughter. Plus many grandchildren from seven to fifteen who absolutely adored him.

I wish all of you and your club the very best in the future.

Thank you, Deepak.

That's terrible news. He seemed like a lovely man. I'm very, very sorry for you and the family.

The endless hours spent on this website has definitely now proved to be worthwhile.

As Nebbiolo just said, he seemed a great bloke. I can only echo what he said, I'm sorry for you and your family.

RIP Vijay. Enjoy having a game of footy with Dean, Labone and the rest of the boys.

What a shocker only know him through his posts, but was a valued member on here ,my deepest sympathy to you and your family on your loss he will also be sadly missed on here.

Absolutely shocked, He was just starting to get into the swing of things too.

R.I.P Vijay.

Exactly my thoughts. He seemed to be establishing himself as a personality on here. I'm quite distressed about this news to be honest.

I hope all who knew him in person can come to terms with things sometime soon.

Thank you.

Thank you all for your comments.

I dont suppose the moderators of this forum would mind if I were to keep this log in going so the rest of dads family and friends can see the nice comments his fellow supporters made. I will close it after a suitable time.

It seems appropriate as it was the very last thing he was doing.

Rest in Peace All Blue Vijay you'll be sadly missed on here :(

There'll be one more Blue in Heaven today

Oh my God that is terrible! Am gutted :(

My thoughts are with your family, keep strong everybody.

As others have said, always came across as a true gent on here and his opinions were very valued and respected.

RIP mate

I am shocked. I can't believe I am reading this! RIP Vijay, you just got into the swing of things here. Enjoy your game with the other Blues where you have gone.
