I agree... How fickle is fate that decides the fortunes and outcomes of such matters.

I honestly cannot think of anyone else i'd rather have than RM managing us. I love what he is doing for us, and i expect that many other clubs are looking somewhat jelously at our young manager and wishing he were in charge for them.

I do believe there is greatness about him. We are very fortunate that things happened as they did otherwise we'd be staring at 5 more years of the dour one, believing that was our lot and we could never aspire to anything else.

Have to agree with UFO. It's been a great start under Roberto but success will be measured eventually by the winning of trophies and qualifying for Europe/Champions league.
One thing that can't be ignored though is the feel good factor around the club and supporters at the moment. Even though we have been in similar league positions under Moyes the atmosphere was not the same around Goodison on matchdays as it is these days.
Has to be down to the sexy footie and that's enough for me for now.

For once David whelan said something right in the summer. We all laughed on here (me included) the way he talked his manager up. Myself I thought it was to get extra compensation off us. But he seems to be right, the early signs are he is 'special' and the way he speaks about the club he certainly 'gets' what it means to be a blue. Long may it continue.

Dave Whelan once broke the record for stacking then standing on a record number of milk crates

they then toppled over and he fell off

breaking his leg
