Jags..class

Player Valuation: £70m
We have to thank Fergie for doing us a favour, if he didn't take Moyes from us, we would have kept him, and good job fergie retired and not next season or Martinez could have been offered a job at West Brom or even Spurs, and now the Cardiff manager about to be sacked and Martinez is one of the best young managers around who comes with a lot of experience of English football. There no one better around.

Sorry to piss on fires, and this isn't to say I'm not optimistic or enjoying Martinez at EFC tremendously, but it's still early days. Let's not get too carried away, yet.

True and I hope we support him when the chips are down, just pointing out that we have one of the best young managers around.

I don't think it was in Fergie's thinking that implied that if Moyes was his successor, Everton would gain also by hiring Martinez, and everybody would have won. Fergie was only ever thinking of United and United's shareholders. We have nothing to thank Sir Alex for.

Fergie tapped up our manager months before he left and put us right in the sh*te. How he has avoided an FA enquiry from this I will never know.
We could have ended up with Weir, Stubbs or Perriera, etc etc but thankfully stuck gold with Martinez. So I'll thank Kenwright and the board for that decision but put two fingers firmly up at Fergie, the whiskey nosed c***.

Well said. I'm full of admiration for the way RM has started his tenure but in my books a "successful" Everton manager will be someone who gets us a trophy. With a bit of luck, RM will be that man.

Praise Lord Fergie for doing us a favour and leading us to Bobby, our sexy savior.

Great work by Fergie insisting to his scapegoa....sorry.....his mate keep Everton Football Club and its fans dangling until he had gone public with his retirement plans.

Now, I agree that it is far too early to describe El Bob as a "great" manager.

So far, so good.....and every thing we have seen of him thus far suggests there is nowt to stop him joining the pantheon of great European coaches.....hopedully with EFC but at the moment one can easily see him winding up at the Bernabeau or Camp Nou five or ten years hence.

What Bob has done for us though, even in his short tenure here, is to give us a glimpse of what our dear old club is made off.

Particularly younger Blues who weren't around in the 80s or earlier.

They can see what we are capable of achieving given the right hand on the tiller.

Even if the season goes south from here, Autumn 2013 will be seen in times to come as the time the sleeping giant opened his eyes and stretched his arms.

He may go back to sleep....but we now know at least that it won't be a permanent slumber.
