Worms, Can, Of and Opening are words that may spring to mind here. Many may see no relevance to the link below regarding Everton's proposed move to Kirkby but i have not trusted Tesco in this whole moving stadium issue. For one, i am still confident that if a move to Kirkby does indeed materialize, the Goodison Park site would soon house a brand new Supermarket. Tesco are in a move for themselves and have now shown signs that their promises are not worth a carrot.

To my limited knowledge, the only reason why Tesco are involved with the ground move is that they couldnt build the supermarket without it.

Spending millions to build a Tesco's superstore in Kirkby only to be a rouse to move Everton out of GP to buy that land and build another megastore there would seem odd.

They might as well as give us £100million+ or something in a joint deal that involves owning the GP land as well as funding the stadium.

As I said, my knowledge is limited, but I'd be strange Tesco's buying the land at GP.

I think the sale of the land is going towards paying for the new stadium. But untill the decision come through, I'm guessing nothing is really in motion in regards to buyers.

it just shows the importance of getting these things sorted out properly - i bet if there'd been a penalty clause whereby tesco had to shell out a substantial figure for every month or year that they don't fulfill their obligations it'd have been sorted pretty sharpish.

similarly, i don't think the club administration did a very good deal over kirkby. they should have told tesco, if you want everton on board then you have to build a stadium & in return we'll give you goodison park & bellefield for redevelopment. mind you, even then it'd be a poor idea without the necessary transport infra-structure improvements.

I still don't know why we can't build in Stanley Park like the RS. Or what about Walton Hall Park? Loadsa room in Wally Hall Park and who uses it anyway? Only pervs and doggers.
