Yeah as impressive as getting 4th was, we've beaten their points total three times since and will probably do it again this year.

With players on form... our current team looks a country mile ahead of the other team. I do love how much the team has developed in under a decade with very little money spent.

i agree to an extent but i would not say we have been inconsistent , more frustrating. Only the 2 Manchester clubs lost less games and the frustration comes from drawing too many. I believe of those draws we deserved to win 90% of them and even the defeats to chelsea and reading we should have at least got a point. We have played pretty consistently all season and other then a couple of weeks we have not been out the top 6.

They could do something this current team can't and keep clean sheets consistently. Think Moyes was one of the first in that period of time to use 4-5-1 also and maybe caught teams out with it.

Being consistent, if your consistent you get your reward at the end of it.

It was also a good year for it. This team will probably pick up more points but the 4th and 5th place teams are much stronger this year.

We got more points in the yakubu and cup final seasons too.

In fact in terms of points the team in 09-10 when we finished 8th would have finished ahead of 04-05 team.

I was going for the team we finished the season with... i'm pretty sure Yobo was injured and Gravesen had left in January.

You're 100% correct though, the centre mid partnership when we were getting all those 1-0 wins was Carsley Gravesen with Arteta on the Right and Cahill behind the striker..

We brought Arteta in on loan in January to replace Graveson when he left for Madrid.
