Sylvian Distin Silence

Blimey, I thought someone was trying to organise a memorial silence at the ground or something...I thought he was dead!

Fortunately a quick google solved that, but jeez, #phrasing :)

As quick as I am to tell anyone Martinez was a clueless fraud and one of the worst managers in Premier League history, the decision to drop Distin was one he actually did get right. It was humiliating watching him try to play football that last season, the Chelsea 6-3 game was the end.

Unfortunately that officially came against Swansea, and that extremely bizarre header from the edge of his own box that came back off the crossbar and led to a goal

His athleticism used to get him out of situations that his dodgy technique would get him into, and when that stopped happening he was rightly dropped. As others have said, Martinez did plenty of stupid things but dropping Distin wasn't one of them.

Having said that, I do wonder if the outcome of the Kiev game would've been different had he been playing instead of Alcaraz. Shame Martinez had a stubborn streak as displayed in the Baines situation and Dustin was, well, French.

Nah he definitely had something to tell us.

I believe it's more controversial than you sky sports clowns "he knew Martinez was a fraud" comments.

He couldn't accept not being first choice even in his old age. Ridiculous really, could have been a great squad player for us and extended his career yet threw a hissy and we were left playing Alcaraz. Him and Jags were never a great partnership but either of them worked better with Heitinga or Stones for example. Sadly Moyes and Martinez kept playing them even when Heitinga was player of the season.
Alcaraz left before Distin retired mate
