Mad that a player who prides himself on being a pro goes and bleats to the press and at the fans whenever he feels like it.

He was a wonderful servant and a signing, but quickly lost his way under Martinez sadly - it's dissapointing that he saw alcaraz as a better player but that's the choice he's made.
That's my big issue with Martinez. He sees players as better footballers than players. Alcaraz is a better footballer than distin but Distin is a better player for his position. Alcaraz is a defender who can't defend, Distin is a defender who can't play. I'd rather have distin who can defend over a player who looks good on the ball but can't do the job he's in the team to do. Alcaraz shouldn't have been anywhere near our first 11 this season, the blokes a liability. Distin started off the season poorly but over the last few years he's shown how good he is defensively. I think persisting with alcaraz as our third choice cb has been one of martinezs biggest failings this season.

As stated above, think back and remember how bad distin got this season.

The answer to the problem is bin both Distin and alcaraz off and bring a new defender in

If Martinez has any sense he will pick Distin in the squad for the Spurs game and let him have the last 5 mins so he has a chance to say goodbye to the fans and leave on a less sour note. That way I feel Distin will be less harsh in his comments, if he is just pushed out the back door Distin is going to be giving both barrels. In fairness Distin has been a fantastic servant to the club and I feel deserves a send off. We'll see if Bobby can be the bigger man but I doubt it!

He deserves fuq all.

Disgraceful treatment of a loyal honest hardworking player.

Not surprised he's been thrown under a bus by Martinez and his supporters, typical of those type of people putting their own selfishness over the benefit of the club.

Clearly trying to pin the blame on him as a bad influence as to why we were so gash most of this season and deflecting the blame away from where it truly lies.

Distin was part of one of the dodgiest centre back partnerships I've seen when he played alongside Yobo. He played well in spells alongside both Jagielka and Heitinga but there was always a mistake in there. He often got away with it because of his pace. That now appears to have left him so all his mistakes are now getting punished. I think the fact Barry, Baines/Oviedo and Stones played so well around him last season may have earned him this contract as he still appeared ok. We should have used him more sparingly at the start of the season and he may still have been our sub centre back now. I've never really been a fan but he always tried his best so it's a shame it's going to end like this.

I watched the Under 21s the other night and he had an absolute shocker even at that level. Clearly he hasn't been good enough this season.

Having said that, I do think we should have let him go, especially if Martinez had no intention of playing him. He's got a right to be annoyed as far as I'm concerned, but Martinez has got to do what he thinks is right for the club so there's no point picking sides in this.

Except that he hasn't. One or two interactions on twitter (but strangely we're all ok with him baiting RS fans the same way) after he was getting fairly naughty abuse, and one interview in Equipe, in which he actually didn't say anything contentious.

Not really bleating, is it.

Watch the Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle games again and remember how gash Distin really was. He's been a good player for us but he's completely finished now.
What did you think of Jags in this games mate?

Worst performance I have ever seen from an Everton captain was Jags in the 6-3 loss to Chelsea. He was personally at fault for two, possibly three of the goals. Distin was noticeably better than Jags in that game, and also against Arsenal. Two games are not necessarily representative of a season, sure: but Distin should have been, and should still be, the man on the bench ahead of Alcaraz at the very least.
