I would take Distin over Alcaraz all day long, although this season it didn't really seem to matter as they were both turd.

He was miles better than I thought he was going to be when we signed him but I doubt he'd of got a better offer than Everton as a club myself. He Did a job for us but I won't be losing any sleep over him going and I feel he should be easily replaceable unlike his predecessor Lescott who was a good player.

I would also say he was value for money really, transfer fee wise, not sure about wages but I don't know what he was on and I don't think as fans we're getting value for money off many players really so I couldn't hold that against him.

Mad that a player who prides himself on being a pro goes and bleats to the press and at the fans whenever he feels like it.

He was a wonderful servant and a signing, but quickly lost his way under Martinez sadly - it's dissapointing that he saw alcaraz as a better player but that's the choice he's made.

I've liked having Distin in our team, but if we're being realistic, he was an average defender really, who's pace made up for any frailty he had as a defender. Once that pace went, he basically turned into a slightly better defender than Alcaraz, which says a lot (also says more than Martinez selected the Latin [Poor language removed] over him), and the ship had sailed on his Everton tenure.

However, for £5m, he's been a bloody good signing, and one i am glad we made, as he was absolutely top drawer for about 3-4 seasons, and that's all you can ask for, especially when you have an aging defender. Thanks Sylvain lad.

I'm not saying that tho am I, I'm saying yeah Distin has made a few mistakes but he doesn't deserve the bad rep he's getting in here. Like I've said Alcaraz is the worst player to put on an everton shirt and hasn't had one decent game for us whereas Distin has had atleast 4 brilliant seasons for us, but yet Alcaraz is getting game time ahead of him when Distin is clearly the better player.

Watch the Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle games again and remember how gash Distin really was. He's been a good player for us but he's completely finished now.
