I don't agree, if you think conceding on average a goal pretty much every game is good then that can't be good.

Heitinga is as attributable to this as Yobo or Distin. People think he is automatically coming in to save the day when Jags is back and they form a partnership, I'm not so sure. They lack pace and height and can be caught out aerially or with a ball over the top for pacey forwards.

I'll become more convinced with Heitinga and Distin for that matter when we actually start keeping clean sheets regularly.

I concur, Senderos has never impressed me, but Wenger does have a shocking record where it comes to defenders. Moyes on the other hand, excells in defensive talent.

He could turn out to be quite decent, I mean clearly he will need more than the 6months hes on loan, but hopefully theres a buy in clause and Moyes gets a chance to work his magic.

Senderos main problems are in his head, its a known FACT defenders get better with age.

isn't he out of contract in the summer?

Jagielka does not lack pace.

There lack of height might be a problem, but both are capable in this area. They have good leaps and attack the ball well enough.

He's been tosh for some time now. Earlier he was the only fit CB with Yobo when Heitinga was in midfield so couldn't criticise him that much but he has been poor eversince.

Moyes likes no nonsence defenders and he's not like that. He makes a mess of clearances every now and then and makes quite a few errors defending aswell.

5 M was a bit too much i guess and I'd have Jags and Heitinga any day over him.

He can improve though, maybe the jags competition will do him good. At 32 can't expect miraculous improvements aswell. All the best to him still.

Hit and miss, seems very similar to Yobo in that respect. Started off really well but has dropped off since.

But who knows, lots of players have struggled this season, maybe with a settled team around he'll be okay.

Like everyone else.

Started solid...turned poor.

Can cover left back though.

A waste of 5 mill already said this before and we are stuck with him another 3 years. I cannot see anyone beating apath to our door to sign him. He will see out his contract here.:(

I'd agree he seems a confidence player. Some of his poorer performances came in an unsettled backline, now he's coming back off an injury and I don't think we've seen him at his best.

Folk saying we got robbed at 5.3 million must remember the state of the market when we brought Distin in. Man City inflated the price of every defender in the league and the knock-on effect was whoever sold to them (i.e. us) also faced the same inflated prices because everyone knew we'd just cashed in big time on an above average Prem defender.

Personally I think he's added decent depth to the squad without being a world beating signing. I certainly think he can do better than he's shown lately but to quote that film "football is a game of inches" and lately he's just fallen short.
