Swearing Warnings?

Yes definitely had two behind me on Saturday at the ref with homophonic slurs! The English language is pretty descriptive and other sentences can be formed just as short, questioning the integrity of referee..

IF all the guy did was swear then the game has officially gone. Its part and parcel of the whole experience of the match and if its to much for some people then that's on them. We pay more then enough ludicrous money to not get judged by the purity police.
Now, with that being said. There has to be more to this then a guy just swearing. I would've been kicked out day one if it was that easy to get warnings. Nah, he was probably losing his mind and borderline frothing at the mouth while swearing at literally everything and everyone. Even then I don't think that a "yellow card" warning is the way forward. A straightforward 'behave yourself or get kicked out' warning from the stewards would've worked better and not lead to confusion.
Why are you assuming that when there was a few handed out?

That's pathetic, is this an Everton only thing? if they start throwing out matchday fans for swearing we'll have 10k people in that stadium.
No one’s entirely sure what the nature of the ‘offence’ has been.
Consensus seem to be a bit of industrial language isn’t a problem but some of this may have been a bit OTT.
Also think someone posted a lot of them were in the west stand so if it’s around the corporate sections they’re defo going to come down on it I’d expect.

Does anyone else think this is how it’s going to be now. Sit there is silence. Don’t say anything, no emotion. This is not the Everton way. It’s all gone so Americanised football. Soon we will all be referring to it as soccer and going to cookouts before the game.

It’s very strange to me but with the more American owners in the league they clearly are having an influence over kick off times, the way the game is played and ref’d, such as the mic’d up nonsense. Every team now has to play the same because nobody can score from open play anymore because every goal is offside. It’s become so so boring.

£14 cheese burgers, shepherding by over-zealous private militia stewards, falling foul of the profanity police, Kopite DJs blasting out tunes after a loss at The Home of H*** D********, and a Reform run shebeen across the road with Hells Angels security.

"Come on, Come on, get down to Regent Road, wooooooooo!"

Not really. They're making an example by targeting and then letting social media stories about its consequences do the trick of forcing fans to self-police.

It's a nudge policy.
I think you great overestimate the intelligence of the people who run this club Dave. They couldn't organise a prayer in a mosque. Let alone plan something out like that.

I find the whole idea of leaflets on seats a bit odd in this digital age.
Email messages, programme notices etc would be understandable.
There are ere even two MASSIVE screens in the stadium which the club could use to conveyed messages re 'foul and abusive language'
I think it's quite possible that some joker found a box of these old leaflets in a skip at Goodison and thought it would be funny to get in early and scatter a few round the Hill Dick 🤷‍♂️

ye I’m gonna stick my head on the parapet and say there’s a chance anyone getting these stickers might be saying stuff that goes beyond swearing and isnt actually acceptable
Upset someone around them, it likely been over the top, and they have ver reported.
Probably do that person some good to recognose that not everyone finds their sweary banter hilarious. We have all sat by someone like this that says things loud enough and thinks everyone agreed with them.

It's like the council yellow taping your bin if you leave some rubbish in the 'wrong' wheelie bin. It's done to shame and be a public take down.

It's an absolute 💩house trick.

To what end though? Do you seriously think that they are so puritanical that they'd care about swearing? They're obviously getting complaints if they can be bothered to do this and I can't believe that they'd get complaints over swearing.

The demographics have changed now mate. This new stadium will have attracted a lot of people from socio-economic backgrounds who aren't used to the knockabout atmosphere of a football match.
