Swearing Warnings?

You cant stop actual swearing, cos you're put through 90mins of uncontrollable emotion.

It's how far you take it that's the problem.

The game plays to people's level of control.

If they had a stat on foul language before and after VAR i expect you would see a massive rise in swearing.

And VAR wasn't a fans creation.

The blatant abuse is where the line shouldn't be crossed. Think about the families sitting around you, not just the onfield antics.

It just wouldn't work going to a game with everyone shouting 'You Wally'

I'm not a big enthusiast on foul language, but I understand the stress has to be released somehow ( to an extent )

The game is dying anyway, take out raw emotion and that's the final nail in the coffin.

You are absolutely free to do that but it's their right to eject you. Same as pub landlord can put you out without reason.
It isn't same situation at all. Pub can say home fans only or other pubs may ban people from wearing sports jerseys. They are small businesses and they'll generally only refuse service if somebody is too drunk, on drugs or not wearing right clothes. If Everton want to ban swearing Fine. If they want everybody to sit in silence. Fine. My issue is they don't have a clue what they want from fans. They're are quite happy to show fans letting off smoke bombs before derby on their official channel. Are they going to tell us how many times we are allowed to swear and at what decibel level. Club are 2 faced hypocrites who use our active support when they need us, yet want to ban us at same time.

Pretty irrelevant to the point I'm making - it's their house they can make the "rules" up as they go along if they wish.

That's like saying someone renting a house out can impose their own moral code on those renting it.

They can stop them redecorating the house but they cant tell people how to behave.

Not an exact parallel, but close enough as a principle.

In any case, the stadium isn't the club's. When the place is paid for it will be...and when they do that it'll be the fans who've handed them that cash, so it's the fans' stadium ultimately.

It's perfectly ok to swear as long as you're away from the Family Section of the stadium and you're not being racist or homophobic.

It comes to something when our fans are being chastised and dictated to by a club that's relied on their thunderous profanities for their very existence but who now want to forget all that to please some blow-ins from middle class suburbia clutching their pearls when a bit of industrial language is shouted.

GTF back to your bridge clubs, you spanners.

Pub landlords will often try to appeal to a specific clientele and keep those they don't want out with a variety of tactics. Pubs will only refuse service for valid reasons. What they can't do is sell you a pint, then take it back because they don't like look of you. If Everton officially ban swearing, and then a fan persists, they can ban him.

These aren’t for simply swearing. They’re really for abusive language and tbf, some fans go beyond at times.

Fella behind me definitely crosses a line with someone of our players. We’re not talking saying they’re ‘f-ing [Poor language removed]’ or whatever either.

If you can’t go and watch a game of football with verbally abusing people; you could probably do with going to see someone.
Its an issue of wording. What it seems, Everton are actually trying to clamp down on is innaproprate behaviour, but have been vague about it. Nobody wants to be sat by some idiot, who shouts abuse all game. But you then have fans who are just passionate and occasionally get potty mouthed.

Had one gent on who is particularly appalled and had sleepless nights at what he perceives to be desperately unfair and defamation. He's saying he left early and can't face going the next game as he feels ashamed. He claims only his seat in the area had the leaflet. He asked people nearby who didn't understand, and stewards couldn't help. He's adament he didn't say anything bad and if he did, he wonders why the club didnt come to him direct.
Tbh honest there’s nothing stopping a person picking up a leaflet in their seat and putting on one in front or behind

The word is ‘persistent use of foul and abusive language’ - how else do you word it? They’ve literally use the word persistent.

Do you want a specific number of swear words allowed?
