We've not played well the last two games but I don't see a 2004/2005 style implosion coming in the second half of the season.

Let's hope the second half is more of an 84/85 title charge

I would enjoy seeing the rest of the league below us impolde like in 04/05 but I'm getting the feeling that wont happen

Its great isn't it mate, we look back at the last two games saying we ain't played great yet we walk away with a 4-1 and 2-1 win and in patches have still played some quality togger. Martinez has raised the bar far far quicker than we could have ever dreamed of and like you mention I don't think there will be any collapse 2nd half of the season. Lads have got the bit between their teeth, taking each game as it comes and we have 5-6 players performing right at the top of their game. Their was a brilliant spell around 10 minutes before our 1st where we ground them down, probing, passing and moving and pinned them back where I felt a goal was inevitable. Great away win setting us up nicely for 2 home games now.

Another away game with no yellows RM has us playing good football with self control

Interesting detail, this. Can't help but think that it's a specific point being drilled into the team by Martinez... we have a small squad and injuries are starting to bite, so losing anybody to suspensions at the moment would be a major problem. Really pleased to see that this appears to have been taken into account.

Its going to be a tall order for Barkley and Barry to avoid a yellow in the next two games but today was one out of the way which is a bonus. He may rest one or both of them though for one of the upcoming games. Hopefully all the lads will just be buzzing and not want a breather though!

Clatternburg FFS!

Let's not forget lids we only got CL in 2004/5 because certain other teams massively underperformed and we just about did enough in the first half of the season to scrape fourth.

Don't want us all getting carried away. We'll need to beat two of Arsenal/City/Chelsea/RS/United to make it into the CL, which is an absolutely huge ask. And that's not taking Spurs into account who, if they pick up form, are a danger too.

We're looking good, but injuries could de-rail our season at any time. Let's just hope we continue playing well and, more importantly, keeping up this habit of getting the points on off days. Fingers are crossed.

I think we'll need to beat 2 of Arsenal, Man U and Man City at home and draw the other as well as not lose to Liverpool away to just get 4th

Was an added bonus to avoid cards for Barry, Barkley and Howard again, seems like Pienaar's injury is not serious and should be back.
