Correctly positioning yourself and offering yourself for a pass can have a great effect though. It's not eyecatching stuff but it's part and parcel of working in that role. I've lost count of 'average players' for us who have been fundamental to the team down the years...Harper, Richardson, Parkinson, Carsley. If we have another of those I'll take it!!

But like I say, other players do the same and get hammered for it. He goes missing for large spells.

If we're rolling into next season with Hibbert, Gibson, Osman, Neville in the starting line up, we're still questioning where we are going as a team

The funniest thing was Aldo lad on the radio claiming that he's watched numerous replays of the Suarez handball and still can't see anything wrong with it.

You're joking?

LOLOLOLOL I just watched it. Its not like he even disguises the hand ball, he just pushes it in.

He went further than that, he was all but saying the ref had cheated on purpose. His Co commintator had to chip in and play it down as a ref mistake.

He's not world class that's for sure.

I've always thought though that this Everton team has found blend difficult to find in CM partnerships. Sometimes you stumble into it and it clicks and just works results-wise. There's a suspicion that we need a definite boss-assistant/artist-artisan duo in that pairing. We've had too many chiefs in there in the recent past and it can overcomplicate what should be a simple partnership.

Best passing team in the world? hahaha we out passed them for the whole of the second half and they couldn't make two passes, Great performance, everyone played well, but special mention to jags, gibson and peinaar. COYB!!!

Agreed, some good defensive responsibility against a team that rely on you being **** and wandering out of position. Still would have preferred us to sign someone else, but a solid game today from Darron.

On the game as a whole, there were some excellent passes in the wrong direction to players under no pressure from Swansea, you have to say.
