How come no mark clubs like this get documentary series made of them?

FFS, our 80s team won almost all what was available to them and get f.a. recognition.

It was made by a Sunderland fan.

And yeah, the lack of recognition, even visual records, of our 80's sides is a disgrace. But a reflection on how football was treated in those days. But I know you know that!

It’s just @orly really, who knows why.

Sland are actually quite popular on here, partially because of Bradley Lowery and the fact we’ve had some decent games with them down the years, but mainly because they’re not Newcaslte

It's not mein frandel. Sunderland thread the day they were confirmed bottom of Championship. Lots of like-minded persons and only two of them multis

I dont think the footage would be an issue. It's just an example of how this club is the elephant in the living room of English football. We're there and massive, but no one mentions us.

I also blame the club in this, in that they have failed to get this club the profile it deserves from a historical perspective. They are pitiful at that....though I suspect it's a calculated failure: dont remind your customers what they used to have or else they might actually wake up from their stupor and realise how much they've been duped since the 80s by a succession of frauds in that boardroom and demand former standards.

Yeah, the guys who run Fulwell 73 are Sunderland fans. They did class of 92 and a few other sporting documentries.

Perfect storm. There was a team of filmmakers who were Sunderland fans interested in making a documentary about Sunderland. And there was an incredibly inept and egotistical group running Sunderland who quite fancied having their glorious resurrection and rebirth into the Premier League documented for the ages and thus granted the filmmakers a lot of access.

Not a lot of organisations have that blend of naivety, egotism and ineptness. Even Bill knows when to keep the stage curtains shut.

Fortunately it all went tits up and was much more entertaining than the Citeh doc which showed professionals being professional and things going smoothly in what I imagine was a highly controlled production environment.
