I've been hurting so much mate. Wasn't aa bad Yesterday as I just drank away my sorrow but now I'm sober, the reality is sinking in. Literally feel sick as a chip. Thank you for not putting the boot in! Credit to you - You called it right, you said months ago relegation was imminent and I argued with you. So, fair play you were right and I was wrong.
I normally give a lengthy, very detailed analysis of the game but I don't even know where to start. Last 10 minutes summed up the entire season.
This is the lowest point I've ever known as a Sunderland fan. Michael Gray missing that penalty v Charlton in the play-off final was awful, witnessing Southampton beat us 8-0 was embarrassing, going down with 15 points was sickening but this - this is much worse.
....Not sure what to say.
That Michael Gray match was mad, one of the best games of football I've still ever seen and I was a kid at the time.
Look, my main gripe is with the head-patters, as we saw yesterday, doing utterly cringey bantz just after a double relegation. I think if you had been our main focal points for all things Sunderland I would have gone in firm but fair rather than a full two footer.
Maybe.
But that same
@Sunderland afc said two relegations was worth seeing Newcastle go down once. Wtf is that?!?!
Regardless, you can't run a side that badly, top to bottom, and with crowds losing the faith, and hope to survive. 6 wins in 44 games. Hiring Coleman who has an abysmal club recore of creating bad atmospheres. Just mayhem.
Will the club survive? I think so really. Portsmouth was worse.
Weirdly, I actually think we are going the same way if a few things don't fall into place behind the scenes. If Walsh / Allardyce / Kenwright / Unsworth are all still there at the start of next season we're in big trouble. It is chaotic and unprofessional and strangely, I'm not sure our fanbase still has the appetite for the fight it did when Kirkby happened.
