Quite right. No brainer.

He's not nearly as good as he thinks he is.
He can't even make an England team for a freindly that involves another archeological relic (Beckham).
He's so crocked he's barely worth the punt of a pay per play.
Blue or no he's turned us down twice.
He played for them.

If it was down to me I'd alert the media, invite him down from Newscastle for 'talks' and then in front of the cameras tell him to his face that I didn't think Everton was the sort of club he should be playing at at this stage in his career and hand him directions for Wigan.

The last time you made a post like that mate he scored a hatrick! Safe to say im down the bookies tomorow!

If we were having this conversation when Owen was returning from Real then yes. Not any more. He's sadly nowhere near the player he was, the Toon curse has well and truely struck him down.

Lots of interesting opinions here, but all I will say is a move for Owen is ill-advised. The Owen of 2009 is a pale imitation of the one that participated in the France world cup tourney, to state the obvious I know, and also the little runt (that was a R) is too injury prone, and I for one would not welcome him at Goodison. Sorry.

Saint James's Park and a mediocre Toon side seems suited to him, with all due respect.

MOYES IS CHASING EAGLES
HOTLINE
Tom Hopkinson; Steve Bates

Everton boss David Moyes is on the trail of Burnley winger Chris Eagles.

The former Manchester United youngster, 23, has had an excellent season with the Championship outfit after quitting Old Trafford last

summer.

And Moyes is ready to hand him a quick return to the Premier League with a £4 million swoop.

Eagles was one of the big hopes of recent years at United, but he failed to fulfil his promise.

And after loan spells with Watford, twice, plus Sheffield United, he finally turned his back on United and joined Burnley in a bid to further his career.
Poised

Moyes has been impressed with what he has seen and is poised to make his move during the transfer window.

Moyes, meanwhile, is still undecided on whether to make on-loan striker Jo a permanent signing.

The Brazilian, allegedly priced at £19m when City signed him from CSKA Moscow last summer, failed to make the grade at Eastlands and his value has plummeted.

City rate him around £5m which is too high for Everton - but a deal could be struck involving a cash-plus-player swap with Goodison Park defender Joleon Lescott.

£5m surely has to be a joke, Chris Eagles at £4m and Jo at £5m? Talk about lazy journalism.

I wouldnt even give those blag sections the time of day.

We've wasted far too much time debating about the merits or gashness of certain players who got nowhere near Goodison.

£5m for Jo? That's bull, surely? :o

I'd say if City want £5m for him, we'd be well advised to sign him up.

Get rid of Victor then (soz Vic, but you want out anyway).

But it's completely rubbish.

Journalism is a crazy industry. I know it's often said, but for ****'s sake. Moyes explicitly stated a few days ago that we wouldn't consider Jo + cash for either Arteta or Lescott.

Posted via Mobile Device I never buy the sunday papers if we have lost on a saturday, knowing we've lost is bad enough without having read about it as well!
