And Micheal Owen can [Poor language removed] if he thinks he is coming here just to make himself look good to get in the England squad again.

Which he probably doesn't considering its just stupid dumbass journlists as their worst.

More chance of Lescott going for 10m than there is off Owen coming here and playing often enough and well enough to get in the England world cup squad.

We need a reliable striker, one that is going to take a decent wage which he won't. I'm betting he won't go under 60 grand a week and I wouldn't even pay him that. Vaughan, Saha and Owen in the same team, no thanks.

If he's willing to take a low wage then I'd take him as I've said many times, only if he does that though. I'd be very disappointed if Moyes paid him big bucks.

Hopefully the Lescott rumours are false, I wouldn’t dream of letting him go. Especially for 10 million.

I love the way everyone thinks hes rubbish now!

Hes proabably one of the best strikers in Europe never mind the country.

We all know Moysie would have him, i really think theres legs in this one.

- Regular Yoyo football.
- Boyhood Evertonian.
- Gets to live in the Northest.
- Dad played for Everton.
- Chance of regular football if he stays fit.

No brainer for me, would you sign Micheal Owen on a free id bloody carry him down form Newcastle hes pure quality.

Who else would be in for him, Villa? City? Spurs?

There will certainly be interest in Lescott. But we've got the lad on a long contract, he likes it here, the fans love him and Moyes wouldn't even take a phone call from someone offering £10m.

Perhaps if someone came in with £18m, Moyes might begin a conversation. I personally don't think he would go for anything less than £18m. I'm not saying that he's worth such a high sum, just that he's too influential to Everton to entertain him leaving unless we're able to bring someone in that could be as integral to the team.

It won't happen.

Agreed Neiler, that's why he's in the England squad and lots of big clubs are going to come in for him. Erm, no he's not and I seriously doubt any of the big clubs will come in for him. Only Liverpool came in for him last time and even they wouldn't go over 8 million.

He is a good player, an excellent finisher but he's no better than what we have and he's not worth the big contract he'd demand. And he would demand it, he always has.

Agreed. Saha and Yak are his equal, if not slightly above. Plus, the reason he's still at Newcastle is precisely because he demands parity with the best players in the world and only the Geordies were thick enough to give him that. Owen is a fine centre-forward, one of the best in the UK on his day, but he's not world-class, and never has been.

How do we know big clubs wont be in for him your just persumeing. Equally not being privy to offers that were made to him in the past i cant say the likes of Utd, Arsenal etc were or werent in for him, maybe he plumbed for the big contract rather then prestige who kowns.

On his day hes as good if not better then Yak and Saha and his record is actually more prolific. Lets face it hes better then Vaughan or Vic currently and certianly will be better then Vic always so he would improve what we've we've got.

Equally he would offer us something different we all know his style of playing of the shoulder and while he doesnt have the pace he once had, he does still have the timing and ability to finish which is immense and he has added other elements to his game as well, what he hasnt got a lot of credit for during his career is the cleverness of his play, so would add depth and varience to what Moysie is able to call on.

The exposure in terms of branding and publicity we would recieve would also be a bonus and imagine what it would be like for the likes of Baxter, Rodwell et al to have Micheal Owen in the dressing room.

If i was Owen seeing Jags, Lescott and Baines in the England sqaud id be thinking if i could get to that club and do the buissness im back as a superstar! Win win!

Im on the same page when it comes to wages but you use his position and injury situation to our advantage, pay as you play etc if he is that deterirmined to acheive his ambitions.

Frankly i think we would be mad not to go for Own on a free given his record, quality, ability situation how often does the oppurtunity to sign a European footballer of the year on a free!

Nobody is saying he isnt talented. We just dont need another injury prone striker, we already have 2. I would rather spend the wages on somebody that would play.

He isn't that type of player, it's well known that he demands a high wage and always has done. He certainly won't accept pay as you play nor would he drop down to 30-40 grand a week which is the max I'd give him.

If he was better than what we have I'd agree with you, he's not though. He doesn't deserve 60-80 grand a week and it'd be disrespectful to the likes of Yak, Arteta, Cahill and Lescott etc.

I'd take him if he dropped his wage, I think anyone would but that is very unlikely to happen.

Its well known you can demand a high wage when youve been European Footballer of the year and your 26 and at the top of your game, that was the state of play, when he signed for Real and Newcastle, its a well known fact that he has been offered significantly less to sign a contract extention at Newcastle, given he is now touching 30, and has had a bad run with injuries, i think regardless of where he ends up hel be on a reduced albeit decent wage. It may come down to a decison on his part of ambition V finance and id loose a lot of respect for him if it came down to finance.

Thing about it is he has been better then both Saha and Yak it has to be said in terms of goals and acolades and expeirence. Wheather he can be as good as he was is debatableand it comes down to opinion, my opinion is if he plays he scores, simple as, hes pure quality always has been.

But your right i wouldnt and we wont wont break our wage structure to sign him.

Would be intresting though if we got him and Pennant on frees, Moyesy already stated this season that their are a few tastey frees this summer.

I can still see him wanting a big wage, a big wage by our standards anyway. If that's the case then it's a big no for me.

If he drops his wage like he should then I'd take him.

Quite right. No brainer.

He's not nearly as good as he thinks he is.
He can't even make an England team for a freindly that involves another archeological relic (Beckham).
He's so crocked he's barely worth the punt of a pay per play.
Blue or no he's turned us down twice.
He played for them.

If it was down to me I'd alert the media, invite him down from Newscastle for 'talks' and then in front of the cameras tell him to his face that I didn't think Everton was the sort of club he should be playing at at this stage in his career and hand him directions for Wigan.
