GhanaWeb is reporting that we have a scout watching Majeed Waris: http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/SportsArchive/artikel.php?ID=304343

They are pretty reliable on information on Ghanaian players, apparently.

He has 8 goals, 5 assists in under 1,000 minutes since joining Valenciennes on loan from Spartak Moscow (who we have already done business with under Martinez).

Valenciennes play on Friday night for anyone intrigued.

Majeed Waris had an outstanding spell in the swedish club BK Häcken (he thrashed my IFK Norrköping with 5 goals and 1 assist 2012). He was clearly way to good for Allsvenskan and the screamer he scored against Gefle IF away was meant for bigger arenas.

However he wasn't been able to find the net in Spartak Moscow although it looks like he may be back on track with Valenciennes.

He's a really quick forward and he's got a nose for goals, but he's quite small and not very technical so he might struggle with strong Premier League defender.

If lukaku's fee is 25M we will NOT be signing him! Ha...

Luckily I don't think it will be. I think more 15M with add-ons and buy back clause's to the right buyer. Chelsea will be particular on who they sell him too.

Tbh I think it would be sucicidal for us to spend more than 15M on a striker which would leave us very short in finances for other areas that do need strengthening also for us to crack on.

We need at least a quality CB, CM and striker. 30M at least there!

We have 4 centre backs. Remember Gibson should be back pre season and kone.

I'd say cb is the least of our targets.

Really?

Alcaraz is NEVER fit!
Distin is very old and needs a understudy.
Jags and understudy stones are fine.

We need another quality young CB who can rotate with Distin and eventually replace him.

Duffy will come back from loan and will either be kept on or sold. His value would be at its highest after this year in the championship so unless Martinez sees a future for him I imagine he'll let him go.
Browning has been bigged up by Martinez all season as well and could very well be 1 of the 2 or 3 youth players Martinez brings in next season (guaranteed to be more if we're in Europa/Champs league)

You've ignored Browning, who Martinez and Stubbs have raved about.

Stubbs described him the most natural defender at the club and the best tackler, pretty impressive stuff coming from a fellow defender.

That ki at Sunderland looks a good player. Could be a good squad addition.

We were linked with him a few months ago. I agree he'd be great for us. Another decent rotation player wold be Nobel of West Ham, he sure likes to pass.

Other signings: Some random loanee from Spain, purchase a striker (either Lukaku, or have a swipe at bony, he looked decent against us and idd a much better job than Lukaku), another fit backup CB. I suspect there will be a lot of 27 year old + CB's for sale for quite cheap abroad.

If we get Barry than great, if not then we certainly need a DF who can read the game well, tackle and pass. I'll need to scout FM for him!

Up rather early this morning by my standards and was looking through some results last night from different leagues and started looking at the league standings and who's in relegation fights etc and there's some decent teams in a bit of bother!

So i started looking at what players from these clubs would be ideal targets for us come the summer, players i think would be good enough for us. So here goes.

Real Betis - Alvaro Vadillo
R. Valladolid - Jeffren
Getafe - Medhi Lacen, Pablo Sarabia, Pedro Leon
Malaga - Ignacio Camacho, Sergi Darder

Sassuolo - Luca Marrone, Antonio Sanabria
Bologna - Frederik Sorensen
Chievo - Alberto Paloschi

Stuttgart - Sven Ulreich, Alex Maxim, Timo Werner, Ibrahima Traore
HSV - Rene Adler, Dennis Diekmeier, Tomas Rincon, Hakan Calhanoglu (quality young player, scores goals, sets up, good range of passing, not bad at free kicks either, go look at the one he hit against Dortmund recently! Arsenal & Liverpool are interested), Milan Badelj, Max Beister, Slobodan Rajkovic
Frieburg - Matthias Ginter (A long shot as there's a lot of interest in this lad from big clubs)
Nurnberg - Hiroshi Kiyotake, Josip Drmic
Werder Bremen - Mehmet Ekicic, Eljero Elia, Aaron Hunt (free), Zlatko Junuzovic, Aleksandar Ignjovski
Hannover - Ron-Robert Zieler, Andre Hoffmann, Leandro Bittencourt, Mame Biram Diouf (free)

I would love us to be able to sort a deal out to keep Lukaku.
If not then it will all come down to which players will fit in with what we currently have. Sometimes a player just fits with a club. Chelsea are casting the net for a goalscorer (flavour of the month marquee signing). They had one in Sturridge. I hope they continue to be as frivolous with Romelu.
