Summer transfer window.

The way I see it is the new owners have refused to dig too deep into their pockets so far in three transfer windows. A very modest net spend for a squad that was desperately poor. Will they all of a sudden decide to invest significantly more? I highly doubt it. There was a golden opportunity to push for Europa League at a minimum this season and they willingly passed up on it.
They stated that would be the policy this year, buy in summer not winter. The outlay is likely to fall short of the level some fans think we should be paying but PSR is most certainly a factor, even if some fans choose not to believe it.

3 players could already effect that spend..
That stuff will already factored in imo, also Id be surprised if we pursued a full deal for Grealish and George. I think it will be just one and if George shows something it will be him. Hefty fee's and wages for a 30 year old coming off the back of a broken foot is not good recruitment no matter how popular Jack is sadly. Rohl looked good against Villa which suggests that there is something there longer term that might be worth keeping. Just can't look past full back for me, on both sides its killing us atm and start playing Branthwaite and JOB together as it will add an extra 10 yards too the attack.

I think we could
Raise 80mil from sales of fringe players. Tim, Alcaraz, Beto, McNeil, Patterson. Myko if we get a new deal sorted. It wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone if we go for Wilson on a free, with maybe Keane going, think Moyes will push for an experienced CB who can play full back IE Ake or Ben white. But that should give us enough Money to buy 2 starting full backs a defensive midfielder and George or grealish, depending on how George does. Im not sure on Grealish, though he’s been very good for us. And we then should have enough money in the pot to get a striker and maybe another attacker who can play as a 9 and a 10.

Yeah, that's not the point though,
That's what we want to see. Rohl is ours no matter what, we want youth, which George is. And Grealish is the experience that could help nurture some of these lads, also a massive pulling power..

Fb's and a striker are a necessity..
If we follow up with the above, not by what we personally want, but what the club possibly wants.
Thats 70/80m out the door.
Even saying no to Jack, still looking around 50 odd million.
What we have left might only fill the 3 positions we want.

We also need outs not just in's.

We will probably do well to keep Ndiaye . We have the means to do it but if the money was right his sale could lead to George and grealish both signing. 60 million or so ?
We should sell the fringe players first and not our best players, that money alone could get us George,
Grealish and Rhol and we shouldshoud have money anyway, we spent 125mil last summer if you add in the Grealish loan fee

If he pushes to move then that’s different, but we need to do our best to keep him

Thinking about it mate, the Grealish decision could give the answer on the Manager situation.

He will want a good final contract, if Moyes isn't going to be around for it 🤷‍♂️

Id be very surprised if he doesn't want to play Euroball of some form or another next season, whether that's with us or another club.

Maybe, but he already played plenty in Europe with Marseille just a couple seasons ago. I'm sure Europe still matters, but he could see it as less of a need for next season than a player that's never had the chance.

Might be in the minority but I don’t want Grealish on a permanent. I just want us to get some pace in the team and he’s not it. If it’s 10 mill or so and he can provide a different option off the bench then great but I don’t want him becoming a white elephant no manager will ever drop going forward. Would rather give George Dibling and any other new signings the opportunity.

So, here we go guys:

Based on our squad and the display against Brighton, i sincerely hope, that we shift formation playing with wingbacks and utilising our brilliant back three. Could look like this - and this is just ideas floating around:

Formation: 3-4-3

Barry

(George)

N’Diaye Dibling
(Armstrong) (Alcaraz)

Garner Dewsbury-Hall
(Iroegbunam) (Gana)

Digne Norton-Cuffy
(Aznou) (Patterson)

Branthwaite Tarkowski O’Brien
(Mykolenko) (Keane) (Backup)

Pickford
(Travers)

Ins:
- Backup to O'Brien at right central side
- A shrewd move on Lucas Digne, since he has lost his place to Maatsen and is a hero at our club; brilliant for Aznou having him and Baines at the club
- Norton Cuffy; a specialist at right wing back, utilising his athletism, speed, and dribling and being covered from O'Brien from most defensive duties
- Preferably a new attacking option - either a offensive midfielder or a striker (since George can play both roles)

Outs:
- Coleman: It's time, my beloved friend. Welcome to the staff-team.
- Grealish: Sorry, mate. You are brilliant, but way to expensive. Perhaps another loan, which i would love.
- Röhl: Meh-meh.
- McNeil: Thanks for playing a huge role in a difficult period for the club
- Beto: Thanks for your heart and dedication. It's time to move on.

So, looking at this formation, i have following comments:

- That back three, witch Pickford behind is seriously great. Tarkowski doesn't have to play the ball, Myko will be better because of his technique, and will no longer be exposed for his lack of speed and offensive limitations.
- Aznou will be used offensively, and will psysichally not be exposed from PL-wingers.
- N'Diaye and Dibling will take advantege of central positions, using strenth with carrying the ball, dible in small rooms and not be "left alone" anymore.

Unfortunately, this will not happen with David Moyes, since he only plays a conservative 4-2-3-1, and will place us solid in 7th-11th position and install his "small club"-mentality to the club once again.

I am always calling out for more pace but Grealish is very influential and effective for us so I think we might be able to strike a balance with pace on the right (hopefuly Tyrique) and pacy full backs. That might give us a good balance and ability to switch styles and play a more possession based football.
