Yes his ego got the better of him in the end, but I liked him scored some crackers for us and remember when Suarez was running around stamping on our players, the only one with the snide to get back at him was Mirallas.

Anyone remember that pre-season friendly we played against part-timers and he was pushing his teammates out of the way to leather the ball in from a yard out to score his fifth or whatever it was?? That’s the only goal I’ve ever seen us score where - rather than celebrating - I just thought, ‘he’s a knobhead’.

Thats not how it works though is it.

What has to happen is someone like Coventry will buy him for £15m. He'll be amazing for them and then he'll go to a bigger club for £40-50m nexr summer.

Mean while we'll of signed AWB for £10m and he'll be crap.

We NEVER go for the player who might be a bust or hit, we almost always go for the player who someone else makes a hit (in the Premier League only btw) and it's still dicey whether he'll work at Everton for triple the money they paid. It's just such a weird model. I don't really know another club that does that.

Adam Daghim (recently loaned to Wolfsburg) available from Salzburg. Would definitely take a punt.

Also still a couple at Wolfsburg to possibly raid: Wind (ST, target man but injury prone), Koulierakis (left-footed CB), Pejcinovic (ST), Amoura (ST/LW), Zehnter (LB), Dardai (centre mid)

We simply don’t have any kind of transfer / recruitment infrastructure compared to the majority of clubs.

What do we have in reality? A village idiot CEO who was laughed out of Leeds, a dinosaur manager who will spend the summer moonlighting for TalkSport and Thelwell’s transfer target spreadsheet from the end of the 24/25 season.

Not sure thats true so much anymore...I guess wages play a huge part and where the player is situated...Manchester to Everton has always been an easy retirement move
