Summer transfer window.

Tbf, from Bobble's updates, it does sound like the club are planning on moving him on, and Alcaraz too. Plus, they don't sound confident on Gana.
Might not be the most popular decision with some, but I think that would be the right decision.

Gana - love him, but it is time to move on
Charly - A year left and isn't loved by the manager
Tim - would definitely bring in profit.

Players have to be moved out at some point for players to come in.

I think that would be my position too. We can't rely on Gana forever and he's dropped off this year despite being solid.

I like Tim but he's inconsistent and Charly I can't really remember him ever massively influencing many games he's played.

Thing is if Hackney signs. Has 1 season half decent. Straight away 40 million pound player.
…which must also figure in the calculus.
Where’s bobble said that about a 6 too? We need a proper 6 so bad.
General!
I'm not sure it really matters who we sign.

We're still going to cough up possession to most teams and the keeper's still going to launch it 70 yards up the pitch for most of the game.

Until the tactics change, new players are largely incidental imo.
Point taken, but even with crap tactics there was a huge difference when we lost Grealish, as he was able to make the ball stick up the field and win fouls all the time.

Players do matter. Perhaps even more so when the manager is not bringing much to the table.

Going Madrid isnt he ?

Where exactly does very attentive fit in the list of considering mulling pondering debating deciding etc. I had a definitive list last summer but seemed to have misplaced it
Probably about the stage of starting interim discussions with the club to get approval to commence talks with his agents about a chin wag with the player himself on wages before circling back to the club to negotiate a fee for approx 9 weeks until deadline day only for the WiFi at finch farm to go down as we’re sending the paperwork to the FA meaning the whole deal falls through. And for good measure he’ll go on to Madrid in the next window for 100 million.

Think if you lose all three and bring in Hackney plus a physical outright number 6 that’s probably a solid and well balanced range of midfield options. And (depending on cost of the 6) without a massive net expenditure.

Have we got 10 million to sign a player to go into the under 18 squad
Rather add that money to any money we are planning to spend on AWB and buy Doue from Strasbourg

Think we might mate.

Think we have to be competitive for these type of young players myself. Branthwaite is a great example of what they could eventually turn into and what value they can offer.

It’s why I’m comfortable with enough with Dibling in the background myself as a slow burner.

We won’t get this lad anyway - but I hope we tried.

We still haven't really got a replacement for Gana - but he's also too old to rely on.

It's a Coleman type situation again isn't it.
In my list of priorities for signings it's RB, LB, ball winning midfielder, RW, CB, CF.

I know some will be surprised at how far down the list I've got CF but we do need an alternative to (or a replacement of) Gueye if we're going to keep playing Moyes' system. I like Hackney and, if the £15m price tag is true, he seems good value but I'm struggling to see why that position is seemingly at the top of our list
