What's the point of having scouts and a recruitment team if those are the only players you target. Most casual football fans could put a list like that together

Unfortunately you're probably right as well. There's no creativity or forward thinking at the club.

Premier League experience comfort blanket, to deliver a happily dissatisfied midtable place and no relegation around Christmas.

Because, remember, and if you don't, the manager and CEO will be quick to remind you, before they arrived, this club was fighting relegation and that's the perpetual benchmark because it's in their interest to have lower expectations.

I was thinking about lowering expectations and wasn't Moyes a breath of fresh air last season saying he hasnt got long and wants the club to be getting into Europe asap as he wont have the same amount of time as the 1st time around.

This season he couldn't wait to downplay expectations and in fact commented that getting to 40pts was still an important factor.

He just couldn't help himself and let the shackles off and really go for it.

I’ve defended him a lot Macca, but was there yesterday and I’m at the end of my tether for watching mediocre sides come to Goodison or BMD and absolutely dominate the ball.

I wouldn't give the fella a bean to spend if he is still here.
It's absolutely no different to Dyche other than Dyche did it in much more difficult circumstances.

Ship him out to Celtic, Scotland or Preston and take that blagger Kinnear with him.

Total reset required.

Giving Moyes transfer funds is like doing the weekly shop and returning home to a kid who refuses to eat the dinners you prepare. A total waste of money. Instead of healthy young greens like Dibling, the Moyesiah is hooked on sweet, sweet Soucek.

We're at nothing with this fella.

The set up is dreadful, game after game of square pegs trying to fit into round holes. Same like for like subs. Same players getting selected regardless of form whilst others show good little glimpses in cameos but don't get rewarded for it.

I was watching him and Baines on the 86th/87th minute deep in conversation about what to do...Coleman and Mcneil came on

He'll mentor the likes of Baines into the glass ceiling mentality. We need someone to come in and freshen up this club

A new stadium but everything else just reeks of mediocrity. The fact that theyre saying Seamus will always be welcome and they'll fond a job for him speaks volumes of the misplaced sentimental crap that riddles this club. What if hes a crap coach? What if hes crap at laying cones? What if he is rubbish at mopping the floors or cleaning kits? Does he still just get a free job because he is a true gentleman (which I'm not questioning btw),

Is there a separate list of attacking fullbacks and wingers with pace? If we start another season with Mykolenko and O'Brian as our starting fullbacks it will be the same as this season, regardless of who we get in midfield and attack.

Gave him every credit for it at the time - I couldn't believe it. I have one Tweet 'bookmarked' and it was that comment such was my surprise.

... but, evidently - just said what he felt he needed to say at the time.

He likely felt his bosses/fans - maybe even transfer targets - needed to hear some ambition

Almost immediately though the downplay expectations started, the constant mentions of relegation/tough years before saviour Davey rocked up - it become 'astonishing' and 'miracle' for Everton to even be in contention of Conference League - with routine sprinklings of things like 'we're not at Newcastles level'

Even if you believe that, do you need to proactively peddle it across multiple media briefings? It's self serving, but that's the manager.

I just made the list up mate.

I can add Abdul Fatawu to it for the pacey winger if it helps?

No idea on full backs, after years of Mykolenko and co, I've forgot what one of them look like.

I would take Fatawu. I feel like we will be linked will all west ham and wolves players so probably Wan-Bissaka, Diouf, Hugo Bueno and Tchatchoua for the fullbacks.

The biggest thing for me is we need 5 players and at least 3 of them need to be in the starting 11. There is no point signing players if the manager doesn't see them as being capable of starting games
