I assume this is because we've obviously never had anyone in Scandi looking at players.
I assumed that all of our scouts were made redundant years ago

Who remembers Vegard ForrenWhat about Franculino Djú? I think he was the only one player from that vicinity we were ever really linked with, so I guess that rules him out

Issue is we should have never given Keane that contract. Massively overrated this season only because of how bad he's been previously. People shower him with praise just for lasting a full 90 without either directly giving a goal away or getting sent off.If we sign a centre back then we seriously have to consider our decision making process's.
Two have recently got new deals. One is one of the clubs best players and people can say O'Brien is inexperienced but he's played 54 PL games as a defender - proabably his best being at centre half, won a trophy abroad and is an experienced international.
Part of the reason we nearly went to the wall was making bad decisions' on players - and trying to fix that by building another layer of players in the same positions, wasting money and having nearly a third of 30-40+ man squad out on loan paying their wages.
There has to be a limit - throwing 100k a week at a Stones - not for me.
Haven't we had one of the best defensive records in the league past few years........can think of a million ways to better invest and other priorities in the squad.
The way we defend limits our attacking ability. You could have Xavi and Busquets in midfield but if they play in front of defenders who can only play deep and hoof it they are not to excel. If we sign a centre back then we seriously have to consider our decision making process's.

Think we have kept Keane for a few years too long but I would argue Tarkowski has been a bigger issue than Keane this seasonIssue is we should have never given Keane that contract. He needed to be let go, with Tarkowski being slowly phased out into Keanes spot as back up. JOB and Branthwaite as first choice pairing and a new left footed centre back being signed to be understudy/cover for Branthwaite.
The pairing of Keane and Tarkowski lost us 2 crucial points vs City and wasn't the first time this season either.
Wouldn't disagree with that. Tarkowski maybe a bigger issue as he's first choice, would be very happy if neither one played much football at all for us next season.Think we have kept Keane for a few years too long but I would argue Tarkowski has been a bigger issue than Keane this season

Come on eggs...….before the game I feared Haaland against that pairing but too be fair they managed him quite well for most of the game. It was a strange goal, Tarkowski maybe just got too far apart but there was a gaping hole to deliver the pass.
Haaland has troubled most defences in the league for two seasons now, the two other goals came from outside the box. Keane and Tarkowski are still very decent at this level, Keane in particular has had a good season.
Come on eggs...
Managed him quite well most of the game apart from inexplicably leaving a gap a mile wide for him to run through direct from kick off. Was a poor goal to concede that cost us the game, and those two players have to take responsibility for it. Tarkowski said as much himself.
As for the two of them being very decent at this level, all I will say is that if we didn't have the best keeper in the league this season their goals conceded would be very different. Tarkowski this season has been bailed out by Pickford more times than I can count.
I vegardly remember himWho remembers Vegard Forren
