Summer transfer window.

He’s not a striker for starters
Fair enough. Knew he was not a 9. But thought he could play all across the front 3?

Anyway doesn't matter as doubt he'll be on our list.

Striker could be one of the most fascinating positions of the summer window.

I am by no means suggesting we stick with Barry or Beto. But I don't think it'll be straight forward to get an upgrade.

There are physically plenty of strikers out there. But getting one for a non exorbitant fee that can cope with the rigours of the PL and get you say 10+ league goals.

I don't think there's loads about.

Good challenge for our newly assembled scouting and data analytics bods.

Bissouma from Spurs anyone?
Wouldn’t be that expensive and would give us a solid DM option?

Turns 30 this year, reported bad egg, and this repeated knee injury:

I dunno. On the face of it, more players have awful injury records than not when you look at that page. Is the nature of the modern game at the top level, swear most players miss a game a month with niggles or are rested on that basis. Don't know how Tmarkt collect data on the latter, if a gaffer says they are out for a week with a niggle is that recorded as a week missed through injury?

Need to dig down a little into the nature of the injuries/context to understand whether a player is genuinely 'injury prone' or not.

Little theory of mine, probably wrong

To add to this, I also think clubs have the medical capacity to find injuries and squads to be able to be more conservative/risk averse. I bet a Transfermarkt of years gone by wouldn't register half as many injuries against players. Suarez's past would be a littany of red flags in today's game, for instance, but he played 40 games a season

I just think if you click on someones page and they have the same injury 3+ times, more so if it's a large muscle injury, then there are probably much better options out there.

It's hardly like we don't have history of injury prone players being injury prone for us.
