That’s what we needed at the start of January, that’s what we need now. Yet in January we recalled a central midfielder from a loan and signed a winger.

We should do like Harry Redknapp and Spurs used to do when Moyes was here first time round. Sack all of the transfer committee. Just wait until Bournemouth, Brentford or Brighton bid for a player and then bid £1m more for them. Simples.

This is how I think we should be going into the start of the Summer window. I don't want any expiring contracts renewed except possibly Keane if we don't think a half-decent 4th choice is worth shopping for.

Lots of work to do but key areas, as always, are two full-backs and a striker.

Yes our recruitment has been poor for years now, Look at Bournemouth they sell Semenyo and buy this Rayan who seamlessly slots in, we have been looking for a left back and right back since coleman retired from club football 5 years ago and Digne when Benitez was here

For me, there are 3 glaring issues.

The full backs obviously. I get that theyve been taking their time over this, this season has always been about not being involved in a relegation fight. Reestablishing ourselves as midtable. So i understand not rushing into this, but they absolutely have to get it right now in the summer. Preferably early in the summer.

But the 3rd issue is that we have to start easing ourselves off Gana. Which should be getting done now really, seeing what we have with Rohl and the others. Then addressing it properly in the summer to get a controller in that midfield. Garner can do what Gana does and more now. We need a Rodri type to take the ball off the defence and link it to the attack while providing structural stability.

More stocky and powerful, but definitely similar to Richarlison in style. Quite un-brazilian but, like Richarlison, you remember he is definitely from Brazil when he scores a bicycle kick out of nowhere.
