Summer Transfer Window - Credible Rumours Only Please

Have you not seen him when they wheel him out for transfer deadline day etc? I might as well throw a Spanish Panini sticker album in the air and watch the stickers fall on the floor. Then blindfolded get a kitchen knife and stab a random sticker and say said player is joining Everton. I bet my percentage rate of correct transfers would be higher than that blerts. The guy has taken a rumour that has grown somewhat over the last 48 hours and then attached his name to it. Easy this transfer expert malarkey!

Two words that spring to mind are pinch and salt

Made up with GD and all but .. I'm I the only one who thinks we are badly in need of cover for the back 4? A few injuries and we're playing the U-21s.

Just still see lads saying we still need another winger and no.10. They can't be priority still now Deulofeu is on his way.

I think we will still be signing a centre back mate and I think if Browning doesn't go out on loan he will be rb cover. If Garbutt signs the contract on offer we are well stocked lb and of course Galloway will be hoping to get a game or 2 next season as well. Will be interesting to see if Pennington is given a chance as he got rave reviews at Coventry on loan.

Not sure if SportWitness is a reliable source but it does seem to have quotes.

The agent of FC Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan has been speaking to German magazine Kicker about interest from the Merseyside club in his player. Klavan is a 29 year old Estonian international and his agent Maikel Stevens has confirmed an approach from Everton but wasn't altogether clear in his response to it "They inquired. It is clear that I'd deal with it, if there is such a request, but it is also a fact that he still has a two-year contract in Augsburg."

Klavan then couldn't help let slip a little more and said "You must also know that it is his dream to transfer to the Premier League."

And there we have it. The second sentence probably reveals far more than the first. Stevens has to be careful what he says about his client and that's correct and professional. However, having a dream to play in England and the agent mentioning that dream at the same time he confirms an Everton approach is quite a hint in the direction of them being receptive to a transfer.

Kicker and other German publications have spent some time over the past few months bemoaning the increasing financial strength of the Premier League in comparison to that of the Bundesliga teams who don't have the finances of clubs such as Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg.

Augsburg finished fifth in last season's Bundesliga and Everton eleventh in the Premier League, but the increased TV money in English football means that Everton could dangle a contract in front of Klavan that would be incredibly tempting. German clubs just can't compete and Kicker worry of a talent drain towards the Premier League this summer, with clubs from the bottom half of the Premier League snatching players from those towards the top of the Bundesliga. It's a genuine worry, it's also not Everton's problem so if they want Klavan there should be a clear enough path to getting him.
