Ahh, I remember you, why didn't you reply to my last inbox? About intelligent & respectful debate?.....

Going back to me mentioning Rafael Silva, yes, we may of not been linked to him for a bit, but when we was, did it not say "with a view to signing him in the summer"? So is that not worth talking about then or mentioning, bearing in mind there's a tournament coming up that he's playing in and one Martinez as said he's going to keep an eye on for possible future signings?

Tell you what, you tell us something credible you've heard that as not been discussed so far in this thread, give us summat to talk about seen as though you don't want us talking about the things we have been.

Feeling sorry for you here Aidey so ill help you out. Here's a link from Feb that says the portugese press confirm we have had scouts watching him and are lining him up for a summer move.

Was waiting for this, we seem to be linked with him every window, so it's no surprise that we would be linked again when he goes on a free.
Think he'd be decent back up to Jags and Stones.

Liked him when he was younger but he hasnt played much in the last couple of years so it would be a gamble. Cant imagine he would command a huge wage though and can cover 2 positions so maybe worth looking at.

Whatever he costs, we should just Payet!
Completely disagree with this mate, Payet is going to cost about two thirds of our transfer budget. I do agree he'd be the perfect signing, last year we really lacked attacking players who can really play a ball and we really do need a proper play maker. However we're not really short on players who can play as attacking midfielders, we've got one of the best talents in the league with Ross and then we've got Naisy and Ossie we even have players like Kev, Pienaar and now Cleverly. Yes not a heap of quality but we don't really lack numbers.

A winger and a centrehalf need to be a bigger priority, we lack both quality and quality on the wings and we've just released two CB's. We need to worry about those positions first and that is where a fair chuck of the money will and has to go. After we've got those positions sorted we can then use the left over coin on a number 10 and then just use the loan market to bulk up the squad numbers where required.

On top of all that we're not a Chelsea or City we really can't afford to go and spend large chunks of money on players in their peak and are 28/29. We need to be shrewd with our money, sign younger players before they've reached their peak, who are cheaper, tick off another box by lowering the age of the squad and let then grow with us. They can then become key players for us or they triple their value and we make a really good profit. Moyes did an awesome job of it over the years, Bobby needs to follow on suit but sign more attacking players, something Moyes wasn't overly great with.
