Forgive me, I tend not to take much notice of the mindless tosh spoken by El Fraudo, when he talked about targets, if he ever did, did he say the words Number 10 or Playmaker.

I still think Cleverley has been bought to cover the left side and to try and get balance and an understanding with Baines. More so because of Osman, Pienaar in particular being out and others not doing well enough out there. Just my opinion though, not saying as an out and out winger but someone who can tuck in but also provide the balance for Baines to find his mojo and feel confident about bombing forward. Think he might have played left side during his loan at Wigan though I'm not 100% certain on that.
I think Cleverly was played on the wing but I can't see him playing on our wing, more likely as a midfield 3.

From what I remember he mentioned number 10 and referred to David Silva.

Del still arriving by tomorrow?

I notice none of the other papers have picked this up apart from the echo, while loads of media outlets have reported Noha friggin Dickho

Makes me think the Echo have just checked here and thought they can get click bait from Blues if they report loads of Deulofeu stuff
I think there might be a lot of truth in that.

Can't quite remember, I think he said the number 10 position is something he'd like to improve, and when asked about a playmaker he referred to someone Pienaar-like who can come from deep and come inside from a wide position.

So I figure we're after a player who can play both on the left and as a number 10 from what he's said. And the fact that we've needed a player like that for about 2 years given Pienaar's injury problems.

Ive just got this feeling we will switch to a narrow formation with 2 strikers next season, just a hunch.

Was wondering if he meant the old school number 10 or the new age.

Well then that player isnt Payet, from reading, hes a sulky little cry arse bish who stamps his feet if he doesnt get his way.

Thats not to say im saying dont sign him, just that hes not the holy grail, hes 28 years old with some serious ego issues.

Its a little like Besic, except that Besics issues were when he was really young and 4m is nothing money for a 21 year old.
If he makes 20 odd assists and 7 goals I wouldn't give a damn and if he cries because we won't sell him after a year then I have a solution. Sell him. I still don't understand what we've lost.

Just think you should be careful the language you use.

Having no bids accepted for either, no personal terms, no actual quotes from player or managers, no dreaded Everton medical is not 'looking likely'.

It's all just pyar jarg speculation even in the 'better' newspapers. Next week it will be someone else.

I'm pretty sure this goes against this threads rules to be frank.

Has to be vaguely credible and not just pie in the sky to be in here mate.
What's vaguely credible ?

It's not an exact science.
The Guardian is normally pretty credible though.
Deulofeu coming back is vaguely credible

Just coming up with a wish list and a boss formation which costs more than we could reasonably be expected to afford wouldn't be tolerated, but if someone puts forward a possibility based on something reported in half way decent sources which is within budget, then it's worth having a sensible conversation about.

Having sensible conversations about Everton used to happen on here more often than it does now. This is an attempt, possibly doomed to fail, to encourage a revival of common sense.

Hopefully the super-boss foreign type who plays through balls, cute reverse passes and little chips over the defence.

Also I think we'll see more 4-3-3, but still mainly 4-2-3-1.

What if we spend 20m on him and he starts sulking September 3rd, cos the tea lady made his tea with only 1 sugar?
