Summer Transfer Window Changes....again

It was a good idea to end it before kick off. The rest of europe saw that they could cherry pick our league so didn't play along.

A better idea would be to kick off the league in September.

August 8th ffs!

The window being closed early this season was particularly unlucky for City with Laporte picking up his knee injury at the end of August. Next season they would have been able to react to that with an emergency signing before the window shuts on 1 September.

Chelsea signing soon-to-be 27 year old Ziyech from Ajax for £38m.

Experienced player who has never played outside of the Dutch League? Swerve.

Has been around ages and has looked really good. Looks a bargain but as you say, it’s a bit weird he never moved sooner

I never trust any player from the Dutch League. Far too much crap has moved over here from that league over the years. Sadly we were stung ourselves with Klassen.

  • Dennis Bergkamp (Arsenal) ...
  • Ruud Gullit (Chelsea) ...
  • Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Leeds, Chelsea, Middlesbrough, Charlton) ...
  • Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool) ...
  • Marc Overmars (Arsenal) ...
  • Arjen Robben (Chelsea) ...
  • Jaap Stam (Man Utd) ...
  • Edwin van der Sar (Fulham, Man Utd),etc
None of them signed in the past 10 years, many of them were 15/20 years ago. Dutch football isn’t what it was. Depay for example was one of their best talents in years and he bombed spectacularly

True but any purchase from another league has a certain amount of risk built in.The Prem is full of foreign players who perform well week in week out, a lot of them from leagues alleged to be inferior.

Also very true, I suspect Ziyech will be a success if I’m honest the league loves a technical wizard. Probably means Jorginho is off and Barkley is turbo done too
