Tbf I’d say a week before signing is ‘out of nowhere’ in this day and age given the complexity of transfers, contracts, media etc

I'd go along with you there with maybe 1-3 days. If we hear from Everton bid accepted.

First I heard of Alcaraz was selling team confirming the transfer. That to me is out of nowhere with no leak.

But if there's press coverage, with Paddy Boyland telling us all and us lot on here discussing a player a week out, then I'm not so sure we can say the club have stopped leaks.

If you just check on here, there's people discussing him on 22nd.

The only player we've signed under the radar, in my view, is Alcaraz. Not counting King as nobody cares.

Totally idiotic if so, so reminds me of when we sold John Stones and paid £15m for Ashley Williams. Only Ake will be a fair bit dearer than Williams and is injury prone. This transfer window is beginning to terrify me.

Prices are all over the place. Leeds paying £18m for a forward who has done absolutely nothing for the last 2 years in Italy, presumably on the basis he scored 25 goals in Switzerland as a super sub before that.

Plays mostly from the left, so maybe one to look at for us in January if he is especially crap.
