Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

this is such an odd piece of reasoning. Like, surely that’s still a positive thing? To be have someone who makes us dangerous from set pieces?

Not when the rest of his game is in contrast to what the manager wants from his players.

If hes going to be a forward player he needs to have pace in order to press high up the pitch, win balls back, spring counter attacks, transition up the pitch with the ball and be involved with final third attacking threat.

McNeil is slow and one footed. So hes predictable and easy to defend against. Hence why his first touch and pass are usually backwards because he knows that if he moves forward with the ball he'll either be forced into a area he'll be ineffective in or more then likely have the ball taken off him.

As i said before set pieces are a good string to your bow but not at the expense of the rest of the style of play.

He was fairly average tonight though and didn't really stand out

In what fantasy world do you live in where a player who's fairly awesome every night and really stands out is either affordable or sees us right now as a place to be? It's time for the delusion to stop, there's a lot of work to do...roll up your 'kin sleeves.

Pardon? I was just referring to him not standing out tonight despite the assist suggesting he had a worldy of a game. I can see his talent but I'm just not sold on him for the price tag quoted

Nonsense. He is one of the better players.
