Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

What's the total though. Thought you had figures in mind. For Serie A looks pretty healthy.
It’s difficult because they took over mid window in 2020/21 season so it depends if you want to give them credit for the entire window of just the part they oversaw.

Also some transfers are often undeclared, with future obligation to buy, or convoluted with add on’s etc.

Over the whole 5 years, its net of anywhere between 35 and 70 million.

  • 2020/21: between 5 and 20m spent (depending if you want to give them credit for the entire window or just the part they oversaw.
  • 2021/22: €80 million (heavy spending on Abraham and others).
  • 2022/23: -€70 million (profit from sales, minimal spending).
  • 2023/24: -€60million (profit from sales, free transfers/loans).
  • 2024/25: €80 million to €100 million (significant reinvestment).
  • Total Net Spend (over 5 Seasons): Roughly €35 million to €70 million, factoring in profits from 2022/23 and 2023/24 offsetting earlier and later deficits. This is an estimate.

It’s nice getting linked to some of these decent looking strikers but if (in all probability we are gonna be waiting till July to pull the trigger on any of them if we are interested) It leaves the door for other clubs that can spend now to come in an whip them from under us. Most teams are looking for a good striker so if you are interested you need to pull the trigger quick and get it done.

No.
But his followers included likes of Joyce, ornstein among others.
He's a very good source.

Wasn't disputing whether he was a good source or not.

It was the 'With 366k followers that would have to be a yes' - follower count doesn't dictate whether someone is accurate, or not.

Also, the likes of Ornstein follows GOT, and I've not got a bloody clue.

We've got to start finding the Barry's for 12-15m before they make their big move and we end up paying 30-40m for them.

That's when we'll start turning big profits on players when it comes to selling them, instead of just making 10-15m on someone.

We've been so bad for years when it comes to recruitment, we've got to be so much smarter with our scouting and who we purchase and for how much.

We’d still need to go out and buy another striker in that scenario

Beto has done well since Moyes came in and I’m hoping he will improve after what is basically his first season after having a sustained run of games
Yes, my concern is that Beto, despite his limitations, will not want to sit on the bench behind a new signing... And we probably can't afford to have a 20m asset sat on the bench either if we could bring in a starting winger with that money.

Chermiti would have to become that backup striker.

It's our age old problem where we never bring in a better striker to improve the team, because we've already got one that 'does a job' and didn't want to upset him.

Exactly this. Although... nobody thought Branthwaite would get to the levels he had so quickly, or at all, when we bought him. Likewise Calvert Lewin could have been sold for at least 20-30m profit during his pomp, we just missed the boat there.

But, we do need to be doing a couple of those deals every session in my opinion, which requires much better transfer strategy and scouting on U21 players.

In theory, it sounds good — but the problem is that players who haven’t been tested in the top 5 leagues are rarely ready to make the step up to the Premier League. Brighton has a knack for finding those hidden gems, but even with their top-notch recruitment, it’s been pretty hit and miss lately.

We don’t have the luxury like Chelsea to bring in a dozen random players every window for small fees. I’d much rather we focused on quality over quantity.

Well, at least for a first team. But I dont think many of foreign players would want to play for Everton U21 instead of a first team in smaller league.
