Where did the initial rumours of DCL staying come from?

We're definitely going have to retain certain players whether we like it or not.

I personally think it will take 3 windows to clear the decks.

Patience is key here.

We can bring in 4 loans and sign 4 and go with a small squad.

I know a lot of people have had enough of DCL and tbh I think its fair enough. He's not helped himself by saying or doing the right things while having injury problems or a run of not scoring. Can see why a lot of fans can't be doing with him.

Personally though he is one that I would keep IF the wage packet is right (big if). We know his weaknesses but he does also have significant strengths and on his day can give a torrid time to any CB in the league. For me its - keep DCL, sell Beto, loan out Chermiti and sign a new starting number 9.

….when Coventry sold Gyrokeres to Sporting Lisbon for £25m, we bought Chermiti from Sporting Lisbon for €15m. I did post at the time, ‘if they have Chermiti on their conveyor belt, why are they signing Gyrokeres?’

Strange the Coventry-Sporting Lisbon-Everton roundabout, somehow I think it was great business by SL.
