Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Kinnear is going to be involved in recruitment alongside Purdy so we could see a mix of Championship, players from the continent and a few more experienced hands Moyes likes

I`d like to have a transfer strategy whereas the players we bring in are U23 or U25, and only exceptional players above that age.

Let`s not get bent here, in any recruitment you are going to get hits and misses, no club gets a hit with every transfer but the younger players are generally cheaper in terms of wages. Soucek wages at West Ham is £90k (Depending on Source) so we`d need to match or better that, Jobe Bellingham at Sunderland is on £12.5k per week, what is the best value for money? Also think about selling the player on to should the move not work out.
I’ve got to admit I like Soucek and have previously said that for around £15-20m I wouldn’t mind us getting him. Gueye aside I think I’d have him over any of our other current midfielders.

I didn’t realise his wages were so high though and from reading your argument it’s difficult to disagree that of the two, Bellingham would be the better option.

Watching Bournemouth and their entire front line has pace and dynamism I get we were financially restricted but we need more of this thèy don't even play with a number ten as such. They just have three pronged threat
Correct, The RS don`t have a 10 either, 3 men in midfield and take it in turns to break in to the box. Man City similar in that they have 1 holding CDM and 2 AMs in the central area.

I`ve never understood our fixation with a 10...

Its a safety blanket because our midfield is not good enough too I guess. A number ten is fine if they are a good number ten who is a threat and links midfield and attack, we do not. Ndiaye would be good as part of a front three, we need pace up front and on the right.

Would petrify moyes to play soo many attacking players
He'd shunt Kluivert out to the wing to put douc in still

Possibly and they have a progressive coach. Although the Hammers did play 433 at times and had Pacquetta pulling the strings. This is the way the game is going though its cheaper to build a fast/ counter attacking team than a team that plays possession football for a team like us...

They’ve taken calculated risks on players like Semenyo, at Bristol City he was good at Championship level but not exceptional. He then took time to settle at Bournemouth, I wonder if he’d be given the same amount of patience here?
True enough, we were heavily linked with Dango before he went there too he looks a player now. Thing is what they have done is scouted an attribute of pace/cutting edge with those two and develop them.

Souček rumours are gathering pace. He’s a decent player but not sure I want Moyes making these sort of signings.
He's not a bad player so at a reasonable price, why not?

However, beyond some posters on here saying rumours are gathering pace, there hasn't been a single, genuine link posted here or anywhere that this could be true.

I think a little less posting about possible, intangible, unverified rumours will help everyone keep their sanity over the summer, especially if you're doing it about players that might trigger others
