Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I do wonder how much interest would be in mcneil and his valuation?
Always seemed to me, that he was rated far higher in the media than for those of us who saw him game in, game out.
Would you sell him for 18-20 million?

Probably but not now when we have about 6 players.

He scored 4 goals and had 6 assists after being injured for half the season, we have like ten players take a break buddy , nobody despises Everton like Everton supporters

I know that every player has their price - but no. It just becomes another space in the squad to fill and another deal that has to be done. Who would you suggest could replace him for the same amount - bearing in mind signing on fees, agent fees as well etc... Dwight can play in multiple positions, plenty of Premier League experience, works hard and started last season really well before he was injured - right up there with goal involvements. At best, you would be looking at someone like Hamer/Fellows types of players from the Championship with that budget - are they really upgrades, do they take us to the next level??

Too many people living in dream world that we can literally keep a couple of players from the starting 11 that finished last season, replace them all with far superior players, gel them together and rocket ourselves up the table. It will take time and needs to be done strategically. Selling McNeil would not be helpful in this window.

Nonsense. He was scoring and assisting open play goals under Moyes as well.

2 passes in particular that nobody else in our squad are capable of.

One for Doucoures goal against Forest and one for the last ever goal at goodison.

His pressing is one of the best in the squad as well.

To this day i have no idea how that ball didn't get cut out, he literally passed it straight to a forest defender and even the manager mentioned it being a poor pass. Then the Southampton one where hes trying to pass to doucore? He even runs after it when it goes past doucore coz he knows he's played a poor pass.

Best pressers? Hes slower then a refrigerator falling up hill. Look at his stats tackles, interceptions and possession won are all less then 1 per game. By time he gets to the player he's pressing the balls already down the other end of the pitch.

McNeil isnt good enough for us, hes too slow and too one footed. Its having people of his level in our starting line up that has dragged us down to relegation battling status over the years.

Pressing, pressing, pressing sick to death of hearing that word. And I actually disagree he’s to slow to press and half the time he looks like he can’t be arsed to run, I could be wrong, because pressing is not something i want to judge my football team on, but I’d be surprised he has better stats than ndaiye off the ball.

McNeil is a decent player, noting more, nothing less. We want to kick on and get top half and into Europe, then he won’t be around to see it, James garner is another a very average bottom half prem player.

I personally think the whole midfield isnt good enough personally, bar alcaraz.

….. hes too slow and too one footed.
