Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

A fully fit Stones is a class above any CB we have. It’s just whether he can stay fit. If he can he’s still an absolute rolls royce with pace and a passing range that the likes of Tarkwoski O Brien and Keane just don’t possess.
Technically, definitely; defensively, no. Branthwaite is far better defensively at the same age. Stones was never a natural defender, but he's a fine ball-player. I think they'd make a brilliant combination. But he doesn't stay fit...

City have LOADS of central defenders. They won’t be spending their money on Branthwaite.
But they will be looking to offload tonnes of players, probably on the cheap:

They want to spend another 180 mill, as Pep's already cryarseing about new signings.

I’d consider big Jake to be a reasonable replacement for Branners if we brought a decent RB in.

Rather keep JB though.

Moyes always said he thought Stones was a central midfielder, maybe he wants him to play there and have the ability to slot in as an extra CB when needed? Still wouldn't agree with it, but maybe that's the idea (if there's any truth to it?)? 🤷

Haha! Think that was when he was a kid at Barnsley - not a seasoned international centre back.

I thought Jake was the JB replacement all along, he was never intended to play as a right back. If we go into next season with Jake as a RB, the window has been a failure no matter what.

We still absolutely need a CB this summer regardless if we sell JB. Not Stones though good grief what a horrible rumour
