Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

There's a young lad at my League of Ireland home town club (Bray Wanderers) I'd love us to take a look at. Only 17 so can't actually sign him until next year due to brexit, but I'd be amazed if he's not playing in a European league in 12 months.

Only tiny but so quick and agile he's impossible to tackle. Part of the U17 Irish squad that just qualified for the U17 World Cup.

EDIT: Forgot to name him! Billy O'Neill
Have not heard of him as yet. Have banged the Mason Melia drum in here for the last three years and Spurs have got a snip at the reported 1.9m deal spoken of. Michael Noonan at Rovers is another that we should be all over and who likely would be available in the 2m bracket.. both he and Melia have a very very high ceiling.

Watched the young Cork player Friday before last v Pats who is linked to Palace. Ok, but not on the level of the two named above.

On what basis is Holgate who has not played for two years getting a new deal.

All footy news not just this club prob been suspended by a day or two
Not getting a deal like it’s a reward. From a pragmatic standpoint, bringing in a dozen or more new players is going to be nearly impossible, and it’s worth retaining a few folks on low wages. I imagine the offer would be insulting given how overpaid he’s been, and don’t expect him to accept, but I think an offer was made or they’d have announced his departure already.

Since the club have announced several departures, I believe that all remaining players who are due to be out of contract have been offered new deals on reduced terms. This includes — brace yourself — Mason Holgate.

We know that Doucoure was offered a deal and declined for a better offer. It’s likely the wage differences will mean nearly everyone declines, but that decision is probably behind the delay in hearing more.
No way Holgate will be offered a deal. This is delusional.

Perhaps, but in the crazy mixed up world where Mason Holgate trots out onto the pitch at Hill Dickinson Stadium in the 99th minute and heads in the winner, you’ll say, “that mad [Poor language removed] was right!”

Not disputing his ability, but very few EPL teams would take the chance unless he looks like prime Messi, and even then you might only be looking a multi club set up who can farm him out to a lower Belgian or French league imo initially.

….we’ve got young Braiden Graham who was playing for Linfield in League of Ireland at 15 and is looking very impressive for our youth teams. He’s only about 10st dripping wet but has genuine quality. Remember the name.

PL are desperate to recruit promising youngsters.

He will be training with the first team by December, certain of it.

Not liking the sound of clubs sniffing round gana one bit. Of course we need to replace him eventually but it'll be expensive to get a player of equivalent ability now. Always hoped we could squeeze another season out of Gana and make that move a priority next summer 😬
I have no idea who would be the candidates to replace him, but he has been instrumental to us - it was his interception that started the move for the goal just on Sunday - he doesn’t get that and we are right on the back foot with the Geordies coming at us.

Going to be a key hire if he is off.
